Ollies To Go
Located in New York City, Ollie's Restaurant Group is a purveyor of quality, yet affordable Chinese cuisine. When the founder of Ollie's, Tsu Yue Wang, was just getting started, he was lucky enough to be taken under the wing of Arthur Cutler, the brilliant restaurateur behind several NYC institutions such as Carmine's and Virgil's Real BBQ.

As a token of appreciation for everything Arthur had taught him, he decided to name the restaurant after his mentor. But how do you get Ollie from Arthur? The nickname for Arthur is Artie; then throw in a little bit of mispronunciation due to learning English as a second language, and voila, you get Ollie!

So here's the thing ... for the area, Ollie's is actually pretty good Chinese food. It's dependably consistent. You know what you're going to get when you order. It's simple. It's easy. It's even somewhat reasonably priced.

Here's the other thing ... Service can be annoying, inconsistent and less than stellar. Takeout orders really need to be kept to simple items ... i.e., don't order soup dumplings; they won't travel well. And don't try to mix things up with items like dry pot. Just don't.

Oh ... and if you are going to order take out

I always gravitate to my "to-go-to" Chinese spots, i should have went with my gut and went to my usual. The 3 dishes i ordered here were just OK. I wouldn't order this again here. It's also pretty pricey.

I anticipated the first 2 dishes l listed to have a slightly vinegary taste like my favorite usual spots-these had a slightly sweet taste which i didn't expect and didn't really enjoy.

I went to Ollie’s last night for my birthday. There was no wait time, the staff was friendly and fast. The food was delicious! Best Chinese food I have had in a very long time. We had soup dumplings, cold sesame noodles, beef with green beans, chicken with broccoli and Urdu noodles. Everything was great. The chicken and the beef were tasty and tender, unlike the chewy, rubber like meat that I get from local Chinese restaurants in Queens. They also have a full bar. The prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back.

The two lady's at the front are super rude, got upset at me for asking about my pick up order. They're response to me simply asking about my food was "sorry can't tell you were very busy" with such an attitude. Learn how to take care of the customers that put money into your pockets and keep your business open. So disappointing. LEARN ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Really good sesame chicken and the veggie dumplings were crispy. They do enforce vaccinations if you want to dine indoors.

Cigarette butt in our food Saturday night. We were enjoying our dinner and our friend discovered this on her plate. We were appalled. The Manager comped us and apologized. But then asked if we can leave a tip for her wait staff.

I was ravishing but stuck on zoom and needed some comfort food to get me through another 10 hr day working from home and wanted just tofu and veggies
I saw Ollie's Noodle Shop was on chownow (no ridiculous UberEats service and delivery fees and had a lot of lunch specials so I decided to give them a go.
I ordered the sesame tofu and chicken with broccoli- but asked for tofu instead of chicken if possible- and BOY did they deliver, this is my new lunch spot!
It was so so so delicious! Both lunch specials were a generous portion and came with a pint of rice and soup (I chose egg drop)

I always order food from Ollie's Sichuan, almost every week! Even Uber Eat ranked me top 5% of Ollie's Sichuan's most loyal customers! I would definitely recommend it to my friends. You can always directly order from their website too!

Great tasting food sent to our table in five minutes. Reasonable prices. Courteous service. Definitely not a tourist tap,
Definitely going here again if I have Broadway tickets.
As a vegetarian, I recommend the meatless Triple Delight with Eggplant,Broccoli and Tofu. Just tell them to go easy on the salt..

My new favorite dish from Ollie's Sichuan is Chicken Stew Platter!!! Must try~
Ollie's Sichuan always my top choice for Chinese food. I love their beef noodle soup, and I always order take out from them.

I got the shrimp with cashew nuts lunch special. My order was prepped really quickly. The lunch special came with a choice of egg drop soup/hot sour soup and white rice/brown rice. I opted for the egg drop soup and brown rice. They didn't charge extra for brown rice unlike some other places. The shrimp stuff came with cashew, celery and carrots. The dish was a little bland itself, but there were generous servings of shrimp. The egg drop soup was also kind of bland and the color was an orange yellow. Maybe there wasn't enough egg added in. Edible, but not the best egg drop soup I've ever had. While

I have been a loyal customer of Ollie's Noodle Shop at its incarnations since 1989. When they opened this location I rejoiced and ordered from them frequently as they were now at a location near my home. Today they may have lost a customer of 32 years. I ordered online and when I came down to get my order I was surprised to see the delivery man still there yelling at me that I couldn't take my food. I really couldn't understand him, and while I am part Asian I do not speak any form of Chinese. He called the restaurant and they said I didn't tip. I had chosen a 15% tip on my order so I didn't understand

I haven't dined in-person at Ollie's, so this review will only be in the context of my delivery/take-out experience.

Ollie's is a decent place for Chinese place in this area. The prices are reasonable and the lunch specials are especially good since the items are only around $10 each. Some of the other reviewers have said that the portion sizes are generous, but I think "fair" is a better description imo.

I've had their Sesame Chicken Lunch Special, Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Shrimp, Egg Drop Soup, Shrimp Spring Rolls, and Egg Roll so far.

My personal favorite is the

Lol doorDash messed up our address twice and had it delivered to the wrong place twice. Thankfully we picked it up the second time. Can I just say that between ordering and getting it, it only took 20 minutes?? And it was that fast the first time as well. I have no idea how they do it that quickly and have quality food.

This place is delicious. Singaporean noodle, string beans, water cooked beef, all so good!! Didn't know string beans could be that flavorful

What bother me about this visit was one if the cook pull down his mask to chat with another cook while that cook was making my meal. He wipe his hand over his face nose mouse and continue to work work without cleaning the hand. Only when he made eye contact with me he pull the mask back on.
This came as a recommendation from a stranger in the park. Granted I am Asian so my taste bud does not approve the quality/$ this place provides. We ordered the three meat BBQ its eatable not very good, does not have the spices that were used in more authentic Chinese restaurant. Since its called the Noodle

I'm struggling to provide a proper evaluation of my experience. I believe there was a misunderstanding with the instructions I added to my order via the app.
I ordered my food through the app which was easy and convenient. The app worked great without any glitches. I ordered the three meat lunch special with brown rice ($11.95). The three meats I chose were roast pork, pork ribs and crispy chicken. I chose the brown rice over white rice. I also chose the Hot and sour soup over the egg drop soup. I wish fried rice and wonton soup were options but they were not.
I added a little note asking that

I generally love Ollie's! It's pricey considering there is no shortage of less expensive Chinese restaurants in NYC, but the portions are pretty generous. However, I was walking past Ollie's this morning and saw a cart unattended outside of a back door on 42nd Street presumingly propping the door open. The door looked like it led to a kitchen or service area, and there were eggs, heads of cabbage, and a huge bowl of lettuce/ salad on the bottom that were all uncovered. There was literally no one in sight, and I was able to walk up to the unattended cart. I've worked in the service

This place is definitely family style and you got to go with more than two or three people to enjoy the overall menu offering. I don't think I could do this menu justice by myself. The dishes they brought me were absolutely spectacular but overwhelming for one diner. The water spinach was delicious and so was the spicy chicken entree.

They do follow the pandemic regulations which was very refreshing.

Solid experience. First the great: the chicken was cooked perfectly. I ordered lunch gen tso chicken and it was crispy on the outside, yet juicy on the inside. I was SO happy with the chicken for every bite. The rice was good too.

Regarding the gen tso chicken, it said spicy on the menu, but i just didn't get any spice other than a few chilies thrown in. It was more of a sweet flavor. Also, the egg drop soup was alright but not as good as others I've had. Appreciate how they give packet of chowmein noodles with the soup. Really made it better. An overall good experience, but will likely

I got the fish fillets in spicy chili oil delivered. It was very good! It came with a side of (white or brown) rice. The portion size was good; I usually don't have any left to save for later but this was a lot. Just enough spice to not be miserable. Love!

Ollies Noodle for Roast Pork. The roast pork here is delicious. Slightly sweet. Thinly sliced. I ate every bite! This is my first time ordered roast pork. I sadly realize what i have been missing. I also ordered sauteed asparagus in garlic sauce. I thought the asparagus a little unripe but ok overall. This place is half sit down and half take-out. Alsobthe space is kinda small.
