I booked taxi for doctor's appointment more than 24 hours in advance. My appointment was at 3:00, I booked taxi for 2:30. Taxi had not arrived by 2:50. I called and was told taxi wouldn't come for another 15 minutes. I had to cancel the critically important visit. Dispatcher blamed me for not booking taxi for 2:15; said it was my fault for not knowing they operated on a 30-minute window.

Their drivers need to be better trained on the rules of the road. I was stopped at a stop sign just now in Hazel Park. I started to go and a shamrock cab blew right through the stop sign and made a right turn right in front of me. The grizzled driver looked as if he was in his 90's and shouldn't be behind the wheel. He didn't even slow down or look to see if anyone was coming when he made the right turn when he blew through the stop sign. So if the reckless nature of their drivers is any indication on how this company is run, I would look elsewhere for a ride.

The taxi driver brought up interesting topics all the way from Clinton TWP to Detroit Metro Airport and was a joy to ride with, and all company reps. were great - barely made my flight and then I was charged $140. Believe that I was overcharged when I look at the miles on Mapquest, etc. - my remembering, too, the estimates given a day or so ahead of time by the company and other companies for the drive to airport....(Oct 14, 2016 update to above posting from Sep: Dee Dee from Shamrock Cab Co did finally return my call and is going to refund $45 to me, and company has decided to make airport

DO NOT USE THIS CAB SERVICE. If you have an appointment or looking for a reliable cab service, they are NOT it. I called on September 25th and I was told the cab would arrive in 30 minutes. 45 minutes later when the cab didn't show up, I called back only to be told that the cab would arrive in another 10-15 minutes. One hour later when I called again for an update I was told the driver was trying to find me and he's minutes from me. I said look I'll give him 5 minutes as my destination was closing soon...when I said that, the rude old female dispatcher got nasty and said "oh

Needed a ride home from from the rental car lot. I gave them the address and landmarks, but the first driver drives right past, never to return. The second driver finds me, even though the car has no GPS (Note: they're cheap, guys.).
The taxi itself is a real beater: dented and dirty outside, dirty and damaged inside. The driver had the sports talk program cranked up at ear-ringing volume the whole trip. He yells for directions to me, rather than turn it down. This is bad. Happy to see my front door again, 35 dollars later.
I see why Uber is worrisome to the industry.

I just waited 2 hours for a cab from this company. I called several times to inquire why or if the cab was coming at all. I was told it would be "15 minutes" and that I was "next" twice. When the cab finally showed up, the driver was stuffing his mouth with a sandwich, and continued to eat an egg salad sandwich (very apparent and offensive) 2 honey buns (which he unraveled with both hands instead of driving), and a tall can of tea (which he also opened and drank down while driving) and even had time to take a couple of vitamins from 2 different bottles (which he had to use

I wish i could give them ZERO stars! This is the worst company! Do NOT rely on them as a means of transportation. I've had a terrible experience with them refusing services to me. I called for a ride and waited outside for the cab driver for over an hour. When I called to get a status update, they claimed a cab had already been there, and refused to send another. The dispatcher is VERY rude, will yell, call you a liar, and hang up on you.
