IHAA is a non-profit organization committed to prevention and early intervention, bringing Art Therapy for trauma treatment to Native American youth. Indigenous Healing Arts Alliance is a prevention and early intervention program helping Native American youth heal through therapeutic arts; restoring and empowering Indigenous youth to improve their lives and their Nation.
IHAA provides training to mental health professionals in schools, social service and behavioral health agencies both on and off reservations, to educate and train mental health professionals, school counselors and teachers in the highly effective Art Therapy and Neurodevelopmental Art Therapy trauma treatment for Native youth.

Services
Carey MacCarthy, MA-ATR, LPCC, is a Registered Art Therapist with the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB), and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor through the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), holding a Master's Degree in Psychology. She is a member of The American Art Therapy Association and contributing author to the American Art Therapy Association Journal.
Every lesson in Art must also include cultural teachings. Art therapy is a proven-effective healing modality with the power to resolve psychological issues that can lead to; mental illness, PTSD, substance abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, unemployment, crime, incarceration, and suicide. Art Therapy is a highly effective means of self-discovery and communication in child and adolescent populations, (C.Malchiodi, 1998).
