New Horizons Counseling Center was founded in 2004 out of a desire to increase the quality of mental health care in Southern Nevada and to help people find peace with their bodies and themselves. Rhonda is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has a Masters' Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from the University of Nevada at Reno.

Anxiety disorders are very real illnesses that affect approximately 40 million American adults. Today more than 18% of the adult population in America struggles with anxiety.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. The theory behind EMDR is that our brains have the ability and tendency to heal themselves just like our bodies do in the absence of infection or something else that blocks healing. It is hypothesized that during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep our brains attempt to sort out or make sense of our memories and experiences.
In this weekend intensive workshop, you will learn about cultivating authenticity, self-compassion, resilience, gratitude, joy, intuition, faith, creativity, play, calm, rest and laughter. You will learn about courage. We will discuss feelings of "never enough, " and about striving for perfection. We will talk about the myth that vulnerability is weakness.
