I hired TeamWorks in 2015 to help me with the books for a small nonprofit. The setup process initially went reasonably well but they seem to have some serious organizational issues. We paid $500 for the initial transition and the contract requires monthly billing but I never received one invoice telling me where we stood. There were many times I would send emails about issues with the books that went unanswered for months. I worked with Carol Hower and Team Works on getting my Xero account set up correctly, including payroll.
I found her advice to be thorough and very helpful. The work done by her team was correctly done according to a brief review of my tax preparer here in Michigan.
There were a couple of "organizational glitches" but it was tax season and they were moving offices, so nothing major. Hence the four stars instead of five.

The definition of bait and switch.
- They had us sign up for a slew of online services, half of which did not work with our business processes such as receipt bank
- We went over the same information over and over in meetings which was not implemented
- The 2-3 months timeline promised to get our account reconciled and setup was not completed after 10 months
- Their concept is to keep increasing your monthly service bills without really delivering
- Carol has been unprofessional and unreliable, she promises the world and can't deliver on it.
- They do have some talented people on their team

I had very bad experience with Teamworks Inc!!! I just need to get a right account chart and align items to appropriate accounts for a no-employee and new company that has very minimal transactions. I came into Teamworks through search of a website affiliated Teamworks. Carol Hower from Teamworks contacted me. Her introduction was that they have multiple-phase process. This company is totally disorganized and incompetent. I have a new client whose bank account kept getting overdrawn because TeamWorks had underpaid his IRS and EDD payroll taxes. I contacted them in order to resolve the issue and they refused to pay the overdraft fees even though they admitted the fault was theirs. In a conference call with both owners, they repeatedly blamed their client. The reasons they gave: 1)Client should have made us sign as proof he showed us those IRS and EDD notices (are you kidding??!!!) 2)Client has not provided bank access, how could we know? It has been a year since I entrusted management of my finances to TeamWorks, Inc. and I have to say that it is the best decision I have ever made. I'm pretty good at working with disabled kids, but am lacking in financial skills. These guys have lifted the burden of bookkeeping, tax compliance and other financial nasties off of my shoulders so that I can concentrate on the things that I do well.
