Craig set up my yard with his company over 10 years ago and its still great. They set it up with quality work and materials which has kept it nice for a long time with minimal maintenance on the irrigation system. More recently, Timm and Joe have have been super helpful with many outdoor work like tune ups, additions, and repairs. Thank you all for your throrough advice and subsequent work. Youve kept me from doing the wrong things and gave me the information i needed to make informed choices to get the work done right so it lasts and looks good for a long time instead of cheap so it would not

Craig Shelton was formerly known as Sail Away Ventures. DO NOT USE this company. You may end up in small claims court and will lose as this guy will lie about the job. No judges in small claims court now, just attorneys that have nothing better to do. They are not always familiar with CA law. If you must go to small claims court against Shelton, take a good attorney with you to deal with him.

Very good customer service! Rest assured that if you hire this company, they will come through for you. We had a few snags along the way but in the end I am happy. Craig and Tim were patient and courteous throughout the process. I waited a few months to write this review because as anyone knows landscaping is a process. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

This company is RUDE! I will fully admit that my wife was having a hard time coming up with a concrete appointment and changed it 2 times. I called to try to schedule it to a later time and all he wanted to talk about was that my wife had already changed the appointment. They may do good work but I will not give my business to anyone that acts like we are lucky that they choose to come out to give us an estimate!

See photos of my clients yard. These new buyers purchased the home with a newly landscaped xeriscape yard (very little water or maintenance). They purchased in early May. Now July, the bark and stone landscape turned into patchy grass everywhere. It has only a very few plants and drippers. They have already had to work hard to try to redo a small portion of this "landscaped" yard. Doesn't seem right, seems the grass yard was not properly treated before mulch and rock added. I had a relatively small job to clean up my front and backyard, which was long overdue. I had purchased my property a year prior and, I hate to admit it, I completely neglected everything (I'm sure my neighbors weren't happy). Anyway, the owner came out and provided a decent estimate. He and his excellent crew took care of everything, massively improving the look of my property (to the delight of my neighbors, no doubt). They even fixed a few issues they discovered that weren't specified in the estimate, and didn't charge me! I'm completely satisfied and plan to recommend

The owner and his team certainly proved the adage, under promise and over deliver - and boy did they over deliver! We needed a side area cleaned up next to our house, which was full of weeds and deep roots. Well, they thoroughly cleaned EVERYTHING and applied proper drainage - and all this covered with gravel! We almost didn't recognize our property once we came home from work, everything was so clean. The workers were obviously very organized and proud of their work. If you're looking for a top landscaping company, you need to call these guys.

The way this company works is "Heads they win, tails you lose". I prefer repair companies to charge by the hour. That way I can gage better if the price is fair. However, I realize many companies quote by the job, not the time. So if it takes very little time to do a job, they make out, but if the job takes longer than they anticipate, you got a good deal, right?
Pacific Sunscapes quotes by the job, not by the hour. They quoted $135 to fix the leak, and we accepted that. When the repair guy finished the job in about 50 minutes, we were ready to pay $135. But it was not fixed.

I hired Kyle and his team to completely renovate my front and back yard from its long neglected state to a low-maintenance, drought resistant landscape that my wife and I could relax and enjoy. My project consisted of removal of 1 tree and 2 palm trees, removal of dead and existing lawn, conversion of the existing sprinkler system to drip irrigation, installation of 2 raised planter boxes, installation of a dry creek bed, installation of synthetic turf, and installation of over 40 plants. I was very excited to finally get my backyard done. It has been a long time coming. I watched and saw how the worker worked, they were on time and very helpful. But, the final result was not to my liking. So disappointed . Not enough water coverage. Needs more sprinkler heads to cover all areas. Then they found bugs. They said it's because I was not mowing or watering enough. True, I needed to mow once a week. But, watering was 3-4 times a week. I even Change the time of watering from 3am to 6am. Last week I wrote Pacific Sunscapes a check for a job that was repeat business, which is a fairly sincere endorsement. I found them a couple of years ago when I was trolling Yelp for landscape contractors. They weren't the cheapest or most expensive, but they seemed to have the tightest act of the people who I spoke to. It has been about 15 years since we moved into our home. We had all the vegetation removed prior to painting the outside and adding rain gutters. Thereafter, we contacted Pacific Sunscapes because we wanted landscaping that was as zero maintenance as possible and needed little to no watering. Kyle Shelton dropped by our house and had some nice ideas incorporating our plan to use lots of rocks and installation of a fence and gate in the upper lawn area. He emailed some drawings and an estimate. Kyle was also receptive to some changes. The price was fair and the resulting landscaping blends

These guys are pros. We've used them twice: the first time to adjust our automatic water system, install more efficient/water friendly pieces to existing irrigation lines, and lay pavers in a portion of our yard; and the second time, to overhaul our pipes and provide some much-needed landscape maintenance. Each time, Kyle came out to the house twice prior to work being completed and sent a follow-up message the day after work was done to be sure everything turned out the way we wanted it to. He also stopped by to inspect the work himself after the projects were done. The employees are friendly
