We offer ongoing trainings for direct care staff which include mandatory training (CMT, OSHA, CPR etc.) as well as skills necessary to care for individuals. Nutrition services provided by registered dietitians are also available.

Services
DHCA training services successfully target all areas of safety and health, helping to educate the general public and medical service professionals as well. DHCA training is taught with specific industries in mind and can be customized to meet your needs. By facilitating a training center approach and providing professional instruction in the workplace and community, DHCA offers a wide variety of training classes.
When inclement weather occurs or is predicted, a decision will be made two hours prior to the scheduled start of class, whether to cancel or postpone the class. Up to two hours before the scheduled start of class, call the office at 410-654-1010. Select Option 7. If there are any postponements or cancellations for a class there will be a message giving the details.
OVERVIEW: The Nurse Case Manager/Delegating Nurse is responsible for the ongoing care of the clients that are assigned to him/her according to the guidelines set forth by the Developmental Disabilities Administration, Maryland Board of Nursing, and outlined in the DHCA Medication and Nursing Related Policies and Procedures manual.
When can I start administering medications? A CMT can begin to administer medications for a total of 90 days prior to being updated with the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) once all course requirements have been successfully completed and an application has be signed by the delegating nurse and submitted to the MBON.
