Meghan Johnson is a massage therapist, teacher, ceramicist, and budding herbalist in New Orleans, Louisiana. She moved to New Orleans from Northern California in 2009. She attended Xavier University of Louisiana studying education and was a teacher for 5+ years. As health care accessibility continues to be an obstacle for most of us, having varied healing modalities is vital.

With deep tissue, Swedish, myofacial, Thai massage, and breath work, Meghan aims to create a grounding and compassionate session to her clients. Her fundamental belief that finding peace within our bodies is a radical form of self advocacy and care guides Meghan's work. Meghan also has deepened her connection to plants and studies with herbal medicine, so if you're curious about building a blend or purchasing herbs, inquire!
Services
Meghan is a Louisiana board certified massage therapist and member of Associated Bodyworkers and Massage Professionals. Meghan started her massage business in 2017 and has been working from her St Roch studio, in spa settings, and massaging at the New Orleans Family Justice Center ever since.

With a background in education and interests in somatics and healing justice, Meghan seeks to provide an affirming, trauma informed, consent based session where client and practitioner can be a team with open communication and active participation in finding the therapeutic healing that works for them. One hour session: This is a fairly standard massage length with time to briefly address the whole body and focus on 1-2 target areas.
I've been studying plant medicine off and on since 2015 and attended Samara School of Community Herbalism during the Spring of 2020. While I still consider myself a student, I have a growing apothecary now and may be able to field some of your questions! I'm currently offering free 30 minute consultations for specific questions about your ailments and constitution to find herbal medicines most suitable.
When I first started the formation of this fund in 2019, I was thinking about the intersections of oppression; capitalism, racism, homophobia, and transphobia. I envisioned a plethora of people being able to access sponsored bodywork if they experienced multiple layers of oppression and receiving bodywork was not in their financial means.
