Lucy's has been in the laundry business since 1986 originating at the Huntington Beach location. The business is owned by husband and wife Gary Slizgi and Marty Darling. Gary originally from the Boston area attended Boston University and Duke University and was in the pharmaceutical drug development business for over 20 years.
What are the economics? Our average customer spends $20.00 per week per person, that covers clothing, bedding, towels. This works out to be around three loads at home and takes about around total three hours, sorting, stain treating, loading, transferring, matching and folding. So is your free time worth $7.50 an hour; less the cost of detergent and utilities and wear and tear on your machines?
If you have dry cleaning and regular laundry, you MUST separate and clearly identify and label each group of items. We are not responsible for garments not properly identified. Thank you for your cooperation!. Generally, our delivery trucks are in most Orange County areas on Monday through Sunday and in Long Beach areas on Tuesday and Thursday.
Our customers range from college students to busy professionals to seniors! Our service is for people who want to free up time from a tedious and labor intensive task. We offer pickup and delivery for most of Orange County and some areas of LA county. Generally, our delivery trucks are in most Orange County areas on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and in Long Beach areas on Tuesday and Thursdays.
The dry cleaning process implies cleaning clothes or fabrics by using a liquid solvent that contains little or no water. Water is the only thing that separates laundry cleaning from dry cleaning. While dry cleaning the surface of fabrics, it does not perforate the fibers like water does in a washing machine.
