Individual therapy provides a safe space to work through difficult emotions that can interfere with your daily life. In our sessions we will work together to address underlying issues causing distress, understand how certain relationships or situations affect your present-day life, equip you with healthier thought patterns and coping mechanisms, increase self-awareness, and explore ways in which you can achieve a better balance in your life.
Therapy can provide you a safe space to explore an unresolved past, challenge unhealthy patterns, and provide you the tools you need to feel more in control of the life you want to live. I believe that we all experience life through very different lenses, and there is not a "one size fits all" method when it comes to therapy.
Discussing our personal lives can be difficult at times, especially when we are really struggling through a rough patch. The benefit of talking to a therapist is that the personal relationship biases and judgments are not present. In therapy we will have a working relationship, which offers a more objective and "outside" perspective.
Whether pertaining to trust issues, infidelity, lack of intimacy, or ambivalence around staying or leaving a partner, all relationships go through periods that are more challenging than others. Sometimes it may feel like you can't communicate with your partner without something being lost in translation, which leads to arguments or hurt feelings.
