It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ms. Kay Butler, the founder and creator of the Kay Butler Peforming Arts Project. She was 80 years old. Karolyn King Butler "Ms Kay" was the light and force that sparked the idea of creating SWAMPLIGHT THEATRE. She will be extremely missed, but we will continue to achieve greatness for (and with) her spirit aiding us in everything that we do.

At this time we regret to inform you that this celebratory event is postponed until further notice. It will definitely be rescheduled prior to the end of the year. We just need the time to completely recover from the hurricane in order to make it the grandest affair for all to have. Please keep an eye out on our Facebook page or website for updates; however, we will send out an email letting you know of the new date.
Swamplight offers a live intimate theatre experience. Depending on the production and configuration of the stage, maximum capacity is approximately 80 - 100 patrons. As a result, we encourage purchasing your tickets in advance in order to reserve your spot. Swamplight offers a safe online option to purchase advance tickets through Eventbrite.
In addition to live theatre, Swamplight offers a variety of workshops, lessons and camps for students interested in the performing arts. Scheduled in the evenings and during school holidays, programs range from acting and singing to music and movement. I went for the first time and loved it! It was just like going to a small theatre in New Orleans for a play. They play I went to see was To Kill a Mockingbird. It was wonderful! They are all local actors with great talent. Sometimes the actors are part of the audience to make the audience feel part of the story.
The dress is casual and it is a family environment. There are lite "concessions", no meals available...beer, wine, water, sodas and snacks. I would have dinner before you go.
Tickets are available on line averaging about $20. They will accept the tickets on your phone rather
