Intermezzo Pizzeria, situated between Plaza-Midwood and Uptown Charlotte, opened in 2007, when brothers Branko and Djordje Avramovic wanted to bring their grandmother's Serbian family recipes and 20 plus years of combined restaurant experience to Charlotte. It is a cozy European-style cafe proudly serving pizzas with handmade dough and house-made mozzarella, savory traditional Serbian dishes, and specialty cocktails and craft beers on tap.
Only the freshest ingredients are used in the restaurant- no freezers or microwaves. The warm, welcome interior makes it a great place for a family dinner, the ample cocktail list and attentive staff make it a wonderful place for an intimate date, and the a great view of the Charlotte skyline on the outside patio makes it the perfect setting to host your party or relax with an acquaintance.

What an incredible experience.
My fiancé and I recently moved into the area. As lovers of Italian food we decided to check out our local neighborhood Italian restaurant & pizzeria. My parents were visiting so they too joined us. Best decision we made!
The service and food here is unmatched. We felt an extreme welcoming from the moment we stepped foot into the place to the moment we left. From meat lasagna to rigatoni alla vodka to chicken & veal parmigiana (and a trial of their juicy, tender, loaded with flavor Ribeye steak!) you won't find meals this good in most restaurants.

So the pizza tastes really good! The pizza has good cheese, the sauce is not overly salted like a lot Long Island pizzerias tend to be, and has a really great crispness. As for the pasta, I can only state that the penne alla vodka and chicken parm are delicious! I cannot wait to have this food again!

Sweetest owners.... we just moved to the area and were looking to eat pizza unfortunately it was close to closing time and they had very little left. They gave my son whatever they had left for the night and barely charged him. When I say barely I mean $3 dollars for a few slices and garlic knots. Thank you so much made quite an impression on my 20 yr old son. You have a forever customer with us.

We just ordered a bunch of different dishes for take out from here. We use to live in the area but now live further away so we don't get here very often. It is totally worth the trip. The owner is lovely as is all the staff. The Chicken dishes, Chicken Capri, Chicken Romano and Chicken Parmigiana were all delish!! The pizzettes are so thin and yummy, and they make in house the best salad dressing. It would make anything taste fantastic. The owner was so sweet and gave me a giant container (no charge) to take home when she heard me mention how much we love it! We will definitely be making this trip
