Working with Cape Fear Solar has been a truly great experience. Their expert professionalism has amazed us throughout planning and completion of a 49-panel, ~$60k job. Loved the drone mapping of our roof, the thoughtful layout , and the average daily 50 kWh solar energy collection - even during the shortest days of the year and measurable on a cool new iPhone app! I believe we were the second home in St James to go solar with Cape Fear Solar Systems. That was in 2010. John worked up the numbers for us and we gave him the go ahead. The work was done on schedule, everything as promised, with minimal intrusion, and the work site was left spotless.
John's pay-back projections were, if anything, too pessimistic. By my calculations, the hot water system paid for itself in three years, and the electric in seven. I have had Cape Fear Solar install two solar water heaters for me at two different homes. Their work is excellent and they go out of their way to work with their clients, especially during hurricane season. I would recommend them, and do, to all of my friends who are thinking about installing solar.
