Writing this review 5-7 days after my Botox injections & I see 5 star results! First time Botox & Dr.Kaestner made my experience so pleasant. She explained & I learned what to expect. I have been fortunate to never wear glasses until my mid 40's. Unfortunately that meant that I also hated glasses! I had struggled for years with getting a good contact lens prescription. I gotta say, "What a pleasant experience." I haven't been to an eye doctor in many years so was anticipating getting prescription glasses, as I'm heavily dependent on readers for any kind of detail work or reading. Dr. Louie did a thorough, lengthy, exam, asked lots of questions, looked at my readers and told me I don't need prescription glasses. My eyes are just "over 40" but in great shape. (Huh?)

Meeting Doctors Louie and Kaestner yesterday for the first time was an absolutely distinct pleasure. They were amazingly cordial, considerate and attentive. They patiently explained
the details of my examination and answered all of my questions. Their professionalism was outstanding. Their office atmosphere is tranquil, and the receptionists are extremely pleasant.

Dr. Kaestner is extremely professional and able to provide a wide array of services. She and her office have taken care of my eye sight needs for a number of years. More recently I have gone to her for Botox and consultation on the many treatments available to combat the effects of aging. She has training and knowledge that many doctors do not. I had to book an eye appointment since 1-800 Contacts caught me forging my old one. What can I say? I've never been a guy that didn't want to bend the rules. And it's not like they're painkillers, they're just contact lenses. So no one would have gotten killed :)
Anyway, I have VPS insurance, and one of the closest optometrists in their network was Dr. Jeanne Louie. It was literally the best eye exam experience I ever had. I had a sore left eye that just wouldn't go away. I booked an appt. with Dr. Kaestner and got in immediately. Turned out if was just an irritated eye that needed constant eye drops to soothe my dry eyes. But, if you want someone who is attentive, kind and professional look no further than Dr. Joan Kaestner. She made me feel at home and spent as much time with me as I wanted. Her warm approach to her patients is rare among doctors these days. You won't find a better doctor in San Diego.

Finally, in Encinitas an eye-care office that's as kind as it is professional. I've tried many in this area over the years, but Drs. Louie and Kaestner are the best. For me, eyes are so important and can be quite delicate (cataracts, macular degeneration, etc). The right correction, and the right medical attention can make a huge difference in keeping good eyesight. I'll bring my whole family here, where there's personal treatment, lens correction (contacts/glasses) and full medical care available. Everyone in the office is friendly and super-knowledgable.

Go to Doctor Louie for all your eye care needs! I've been having some problem with my eyes and wanted to get in quickly. She was so sweet and stayed late to see me. She was so patient and never rushed me and spent quite a while going over all the issues. It turns out I'm just getting old, LOL, so my fears were unfounded. I was still appreciate of her time and expertise. She also suggested contacts for reading. I LOVE Dr. Kaestner. I have been getting dysport and botox for the last 14 years. It lasts, and the results have always been great. I am always so nervous about needles and she makes me feel very comfortable and spends a lot of time with me and doesn't rush me in and out. I have also gotten an eye lift by her. My eyes look so natural. The eye lift was smooth and easy it was the best thing I've done yet! I look fresh and well rested still ,and i got the eye lift done over 12 years ago! I would highly recommend Dr. Kaestner if you want great results that last.

I have been going to Joan Kaestner, M.D. now for about seven years (at least!) and would not think of going anywhere else for my Botox, Restylane or other services. Joan is concise, professional, listens well, and is an expert in her field. I always feel that with Joan and with Anne (her lovely assistant) I am in excellent hands and that they will put my needs ahead of any other consideration.
