One of the biggest pros of a CU over a bank is customer service, however, I cannot say that for TBFCU since the start of the pandemic. At this point it’s been over 2 years, businesses should have made adjustments to accommodate there customers.
The Member Service Call Center have extremely long wait times and very inconvenient hours. On Wednesday they open at 10am!!! I called at around 10:30am, and waited 1 hour and 9 mins before someone could answer the phone. I’ve never waited this long for any customer service besides USPS 🙄.

Dealt with a very incompetent Elisabeth Rodriguez because of friend referral to the company. She was always late on responses and always "working on it later" deal. Application process took a while but was approved for the loan amount (a very small loan by the way) a week later after being strung along, she wanted 2 yrs of W2 to prove overtime, well overtime is not what is, was, or what it is now, income should have stand alone or not, but no. I was strung along for the ride and when questioned her...well it's been 2 weeks without her incompetent self to answer emails. I'll never deal with Tampa

I have a HELOC through TBFCU, and am using the funds to buy a house in a foreign country. Given this and the amount of the funds, there has been some logistical and procedural hurdles to jump over. Sharon from TBFCU has been amazing with guiding me through the process to ensure a smooth transfer of funds; super responsive, clear and concise, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. Been great working with Sharon and recommend her for anyone looking to supplement their banking services!

Worst credit union ever. This place is a joke. If you enjoy having to follow up multiple times to correct their errors, drive all over Tampa for a branch open during normal hours, like excessive wait times when visiting in person or calling, this is the bank for you. I feel sorry for anyone who uses this CU as their primary bank because I can't imagine what you go through. I have a loan product through TBFCU and the errors and amount of contact needed for resolution is ridiculous. The lending department is the worst at returning calls. Their staff is nice, but not well trained and rarely able to

I've been working with the folks at TBFCU for almost 2 years now.
Great experience working with Lee in loans, Teresita at the call center, and Ernesto at the branch. All of them are responsive and also show that they prioritize customer service that actually nurtures a long-term banking relationship.
The tele-tellers felt weird at first, like most new things. Once I tried it, it felt normal and the tellers that helped me were super helpful.
I am so glad they are open until 6pm on weekdays. TBFCU shows that they work to accommodate their customers' needs.

This is the worse bank ever. I do not recommend them especially if you are in the military. This bank is not Military friendly and are never available. If a soldier is deployed and overseas, this bank is useless. If you’re in the military I suggest using USAA and Navy Federal . They are always available and have way better customer service!

Be careful!! I refinanced my car and gave all all insurance information when I applied. Received a letter in mail saying $900.00 was added to my account for lack of insurance. I GAVE THIS INFORMATION ALREADY!! Very frustrating when I have to do this all over again with my busy full time employment. LET ME STOP EVERYTHING AND WORK ON THIS ONCE AGAIN. Also, instead of mailing with this situation, how about calling your customer. Poor business practices.
