Services
First, you walk in and Tony greets you like an old friend if you have been here before. If it is your first time - he makes you feel welcome and comfortable so that by the time you leave you feel like a regular. If it's a "jump-start-the-day" breakfast, you should know we filter the water used to brew our coffee.
Every time I agonize over what to get and am blown away by what I am served. I like healthy, my hubby likes rich dishes - we both leave smiling and planning our return. The atmosphere feels like an Italian bistro, the staff are warm and welcoming, parking is easy, and the prices are very reasonable.
Tony and his crew do everything to make dining here the best experience possible. Great food made all the more enjoyable by gracious, warm service and a family feel - this neighborhood gem is my favorite for all occasions! Detailed planning and exceptional service are the keys to a successful event.
Stopped here to fuel up before doing a long hike at Pt. Reyes. We went halvsies on the Havana omelet and the cinnamon walnut french toast with blueberries. After a late afternoon snack at Drakes Oyster Farm my bf and I stopped off in Fairfax to grab a drink - it beats sitting in Friday rush hour back into SF.

I was delighted by the quality of this restaurant and it was the best Italian food I’ve had in years. As soon as we started our ceasar salad I knew this place was putting their heart and skill into their food. Super fresh, extremely well prepared, and the owner/chef and staff provided wonderful service. I’m not a big pasta fan, but I did take a bite of my daughter’s angel hair and knew immediately the pasta was house made even though their menu doesn’t state that ( the server confirmed). Pasta is a whole different experience when made fresh. This restaurant is a gem and we will for sure

After the first sip of this perfect cappuccino, I knew I was going to post a review. Exceptional service. My Denver omelet was cooked perfectly, with slightly charred chunks of ham, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and green peppers. My mom's meal came with a freshly made currant scone and lemon curd. We passed the scone around the table, just delicious. We'll definitely be back for breakfast.

Super cute restaurant in the adorable town of Fairfax. They sat us at a great round table in the the corner of the restaurant. The staff was so inviting and kind. Started us off with some delicious cornbread as we looked over the menu. All of our dishes were so beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Great food. Great location and ambiance. We will definitely be back!

Yesterday we went for a walk to the mount tamalpais. After our hike we were hungry and we thought of a place where there would be food for all our tastes because some wanted chicken, seafood and meat. so we decided to go to Bearefoot cafe in Fairfax. it was the best decision! We were all very happy with our food, it was delicious. The truth was that everything was very tasty and the service was execptional. Tony was very friendly and so was the waiter Tayron. Without leaving out the chef Alex was doing a whole show when he was cooking because when he is making the ravioli sauce with vodka the

I was raised in Fairfax and it's my favorite town in the world 🌎. Tonight I'm visiting and I walked to every restaurant looking at every to go menu and u decided on barefoot Cafe. I ordered the fish and chips. I work in a restaurant and I love food. I have to honestly say that Barefoot Cafe has the BEST sweet potato fries I've ever eaten. Well done barefoot cafe...I didn't even get past a block without sitting down on the curb to enjoying your food. I'm still here savoring each mouth full.
Thank you so much!

Generous portion and good quality foods. The warm spinach salad is nice and not very greasy. I would recommend ordering before hand even if you plan eating indoors. My favorite meals are from the breakfast and brunch menu. They will cook to your specific needs gluten free and low fat. Make sure you clarify.
Kid friendly too.
Ordering take has been easy. They always include utensils and nice clean recyclable paper products.

At barefoot Café is purely charming. The ambience is very cute and you get the feel for Fairfax when you sit outside. The people strolling by talk to one another. The people with dogs laugh with one another. The town of Fairfax is adorable and this restaurant fits right in.
The barefoot cafe menu had a lot of selections on it. I was there for lunch and there was a variety of salads, sandwiches, and burgers to choose from. I ended up picking the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. Overall, my meal was really good. The owner ended up serving us for majority of our meal. He was a very nice guy

I would have loved to enjoy the food here, but apparently being a Black patron means being completely ignored at the table (sat at 1:31pm, left at 1:56pm) for 25 minutes while waiting for the server to acknowledge me. Meanwhile, two other tables around me (all white) were served menus, drinks, and had their tables cleared. When I asked for at least a glass of water, the server told me to wait because another patron took priority. I should note there were only about five-six tables seated, and I was one of three outside.
I appreciate that the manager offered to pay for my meal afterwards, but

My cousin recommended Barefoot and I'm glad she did. The food was amazing and the service was awesome as well.
We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was fresh and delicious. Then, for dinner, I had the Hanger steak and it was magnificent.
Chef Tony even visited our table to check and make sure we were happy with our meal.
I will definitely come back to Barefoot when next I'm in town.

Every time I drive past Barefoot Cafe these days I think "I need to go there again soon". With the doors thrown open for summer (and covid) and the ample al fresco seating constructed on the low-traffic side-street, the place is looking quite inviting and finally prompted a post-hike visit when I declared that I was starving.
Major props to Barefoot Cafe for being one of the few covid-era businesses I've gone to who seems to be acing the service game. I know it's awkward and difficult to find workers these days let alone those who do their job in a way that makes one feel

So good! Such a cozy spot covered in ivy with outdoor seating and best of all... amazing French toast and pancakes! Got a big cappuccino, blueberry pancakes, and the French toast-eggs-chicken sausage plate and all were fluffy and delicious. The French toast is the best of all, like eating a massive cinnamon roll.
Come on a weekday at 8am when they open and you'll have the place to yourself.
5 stars!!!!

Great place to eat. My aunt and I were greeted by the owner and executive chef. We were seated quickly and given a few moments before being waited on.
She ordered the BLT on sourdough with lentil soup. This sandwich was huge. It not only had the bacon, lettuce, and tomato, but avocado, and much more. The soup was very thick, rich, and earthy. It had a pop of cumin at the very end of each bite. She had a glass of water with lemon.
I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. It came with a fresh delicious coleslaw and piping hot crispy french fries.
Now, before I give the review for the great things I

We explored the town of Fairfax today. The barefoot cafe was delicious. I had the salmon salad, my husband had a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings, my son had a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and not pictured my daughter and her boyfriend both had the portabella mushroom sandwich. All of our food was yummy, the service excellent. Portions generous.
