Stayed in port A for four nights. We don’t drive being we flew down and tend to have beers on the island. Never took more than 10 min to pick us up, and never charged more than 10 bucks. Rhonda is awesome! Even a golf cart is 160 bucks for 24 hours. And if you’ve been drinking that’s a no no.

I was displeased with the lack of communication from the company when trying to plan a ride to the airport on our vacation. We called them roughly a month in advance to book, they took all of our information and said they would be calling the next day to confirm the price. I never received this call, and so I called them the Friday we got into town to plan a ride for Tuesday; the person who answered made it seem like they had never heard of the previous phone call. They, again, took our information and said they would call us the morning of our planned trip. Just to be safe, I called again the

We got a recommendation from a local that told us they use this guy all the time and from where we were to where we wanted to go would only cost $5. They use him all the time. My wife happen to mention we were from out of town and low and behold when we asked how much for the 2.5 mile trip he told us $15. We paid and thought it was way too much. We called another taxi company and asked how much for the return trip and were told it would be only $5!!! This guy deliberately scalped us just because we mentioned we were not from here!!! Shady business practice!!! Not recommended at all!!!

Excellent driver, pleasant personality. He is about the only public transportation in Port A. There is a bus, it stops at 5:30, and only goes once an hour. I believe I called someone else first and they didn’t answer. There is no Ride Share, unless you happen to get an airport drop off which happens to be in the area. That what happened to us on way to restaurant. But now that I know about this service, I will always use them. It was the same price as the Lift.

Where Island Taxi charges people who work on the island $3, Gulf Coast Taxi charged my mom $6. She was picked up from a home where the nearest crossroads were Laurel & East Oakes and taken to her place of employment on Ave G. It wasn't a terribly long fair. If cab companies cater to the inebriated, maybe they could also give locals needing rides to work a slight break as well. I'm sure other fares would make up for a slight discount for us working stiffs. My mom was not able to give the driver much in gratuity because of the cost of the actual fare.
