When it comes to addiction, no one ever chooses to become addicted nor are they ever prepared. In fact, in 2009 there was a staggering 23.5 million people ages 12 or older who needed treatment for illicit drug or alcohol abuse.
A Recovery Coach, also known as a Sober Coach, Sober Buddy, Recovery Manager, Sober Companion, Recovery Support Specialist, Family Recovery Coach, or a Virtual Recovery Coach, is a non-clinical professional who helps remove personal and environmental obstacles from the recovering client, and serves as a personal guide and mentor in the management of personal and family recovery.
Addiction is an ongoing battle with no cure. However, with treatment, therapy, and a good support system, you can regain control of your life and find yourself on the path to recovery.
