They took my girlfriends car 3 weeks ago to start working on it and they still haven't worked on the vehicle. They've used up all her covered time for her rental. They're mad because they did an estimate and ran the cost up over 3500 and the insurance company said it was valued at 2400. So they're letting the car sit there. If you weren't ready to start working then why get the vehicle into the shop?lessons learned

I called in for information on getting an estimate, and I could only be provided an estimate if I brought in the one from the insurance company. The damage wasn't that bad (I have a background working on vehicles), and the estimate indicated things being replaced that weren't damaged, so I wanted an opinion that wasn't swayed by the estimate that the insurance claim depicted. No one had physically looked at the damage for the insurance claim, just in photos, one of the quick claims services. I felt talked down to when I expressed my reasoning of not wanting to share the insurance claim estimate
