For more than 53 years we have existed solely for the purpose of serving our members' best interests. The credit union was originally established for employees of the United States Postal Service. Today we serve 10 employee groups in Savannah and the surrounding counties. We enable these employers and associations to offer their employees and associates all the benefits of credit union membership at no cost to their companies or associations.
Credit Union membership is also available to immediate family members regardless of where they live or work. Our Purpose is to provide quality products and services to our members that are mutually profitable to both the member and to the credit union, while insuring that sound financial policies are practiced.

Services
There are plenty of reasons to save: retirement, a child's education, a special occasion or just the security of putting away money for the future. Whatever your reason, Savannah Postal Credit Union has a savings product that's right for you. Our savings accounts, certificates and IRAs offer competitive dividend rates and such convenient features as direct deposit and payroll deduction.
When you become a member of the credit union a savings account is opened in your name. An initial deposit of $35 is required. All members must maintain a $25 balance in their savings account to remain a member, and demonstrate regular activity in their account to keep it open. A competitive interest rate paid quarterly on the average daily balance in your savings account.
One of the greatest challenges facing Americans today is ensuring the financial well being and security of your family throughout your retirement years. With uncertainty over the adequacy of social security growing daily, it's increasingly necessary to rely on your own savings plans and resources to support your future retirement plans.
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) provides insurance coverage of up to at least $250,000 for your Credit Union account(s). To learn more about the type of accounts and the total amounts that the NCUA may insure visit this link directly to NCUA: http://www.ncua.gov/ShareInsurance/index.htm.
When deposits are made to your account the funds are available for use without having to wait for an upload from batch processing. With up to date processing on your account balances, you're able to view your account transactions sooner which will protect your account from potential fraud. Always keep a register of all your purchases with a running balance so you will know what your available balance should be.

I have been with SPCU for many years and can not say nothing beyond sending them the highest of praises. Mrs.Freda, Ms.Kay, Mrs.Joy, Mrs. Leslie, and Mrs. Theresa, they are GREAT. When they say they are going to do something, they do it. You get nothing less than the very Best with these ladies. It's small, but mighty in customer service, or the completion of a loan they have got your back. Love this bank, but without these ladies, it would be just any other bank. God bless ALL those who work here.
