Historically speaking, the federal estate tax is an excise tax levied on the transfer of a person's assets after death. In actuality, it is neither a death tax nor an inheritance tax, but more accurately a transfer tax. There are three distinct aspects to federal wealth transfer taxes that comprise what is called the Unified Transfer Tax: Estate Taxes, Gift Taxes, and Generation-Skipping Transfer Taxes.
Special Needs Estate Planning focuses on providing for the special needs of our loved ones with disabilities when we are no longer there to organize and advocate on their behalf.

We had the pleasure of being referred to Shawn to handle our estate planning. He was incredibly professional, easy to talk to and handled all of our questions no matter how silly we thought they might be. He was able to able to lay out a plan for the future, should unexpected events occur and he really put our minds at ease knowing that our two young children and our belongings would be taken care of. Especially considering one of our children has special needs and needed additional provisions within the plan. I cannot recommend Shawn and the service he provides enough!

I shopped around for an attorney that could help my wife and me in estate planning. We found Shawn McCammon in Boerne and could not be happier. His price was reasonable, he wasn't pushy as some others I talked to, the services he offered were professional and thorough, and he made sure he understood our needs and desires before even beginning to restructure our estate planning. I would highly recommend Shawn to anyone.

Retirement and all the planning around it can be daunting but one of the items on my to do list, estate planning, was made very easy by working with Shawn. He was always available to answer my questions no matter how small, and then walked me through the documents so that I understood everything. What a relief this has been to check it off the to do list and super grateful for all the help Shawn provided.

Shawn and his wife were absolutely amazing to work with. My husband and I have several businesses and we needed a trust set in place. After working with several planners before who never responded to our questions or got the ball rolling on our paperwork, it was a true relief to finally meet Shawn. He handled our entire trust from start to finish within a week and answered every question we had quickly. He is a true professional with a kind heart. I am happy to refer Shawn McCammon to everyone in need of Estate Planning.
