Chinese herbs are often used in conjunction with acupuncture for added therapeutic effect. While many cultures have herbal medicine traditions, the sophistication of Chinese herbal medicine is unsurpassed. Chinese herbal medicine has a long history reaching back several thousand years, and the resulting system is now used to treat everything from the common cold to symptoms associated with cancer.
Many first-time patients are concerned that acupuncture needles will feel like hypodermic injections at the doctor's office, but they won't. The acupuncture intake process will involve questions about your current state of health, past illnesses, and family history. Acupuncture works by activating the body's own healing powers, so it can be beneficial for many health conditions.

Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles that are often not felt when I insert them. When I gently stimulate the needles they may produce a unique sensation that Oriental medicine calls de qi.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has documented many symptoms, diseases, and conditions that have been shown in controlled clinical trials to be effectively treated with acupuncture.
Most patients have questions about their insurance coverage and whether or not their acupuncture treatments will be covered. MediCare and MediCal in most cases do not cover acupuncture, and I do not accept either one. Most other insurances do have some acupuncture benefits, but each plan is different.

Nice, clean treatment rooms, relaxing atmosphere and excellent care. I had been experiencing pain in my shoulder for several days after lifting weights in the gym and came and got a treatment from Betty. The following day, the pain was nearly gone. I came in for a second treatment a few days later and the pain completely went away, and I've been able to resume my normal workout routine with no issues. So glad I tried acupuncture. Highly recommend!

I went started seeing Elizabeth (Betty) Weldon for acupuncture and cupping early in my pregnancy. I had developed a pinched nerve in my lower back that was very painful, but after a few treatments with Betty, it went away. The treatments also helped with my energy levels and to ease some long-standing chronic pain. I moved out of the area but as I am approaching my third trimester I am wishing I could see her for some aches and pains. Betty is very kind and caring, I highly recommend her if you are looking for an acupuncturist in the Ventura area.

I am a physician and rarely make the time for healing myself. I tell my friends and my patients about acupuncture but have never gone myself. My first experience and the many thereafter have been amazing! The impact it has had on my stress areas have been significant. I appreciate Betty's attention to specific problem areas and her delicate approach. Best place!! A bonus is that she takes insurance and most other offices do not.

I've endured many years of military / work related back, neck and and neck pain that continued to get worse over time. I have herniated discs, torn tendons, sciatica and arthritis. I've been treated by several chiropractors and three different orthopedic surgeons - which has included medications,physical therapy and epidural injections. I finally decided to try acupuncture, with Dr. Weldon, and wish I had done so years ago. It is the most significant pain relief I've ever experienced without medication, and the positive effects don't simply wear off or go away like medications

I injured my shoulder, the pain was getting worse by the day. Orthopedic diagnosed me with "frozen shoulder" and did not offer anything to help with the pain except taking Advil. After months of everyday pain, I finally decided acupuncture. I made my first appointment on a Saturday, where Betty started treatment and was so patient as I cried my way through it (needle phobia). After only a few treatments my shoulder is pain free and I'm finally feeling like myself again! I highly recommend Betty Weldon to help with any injury! She has been a gift to me!

I came in because I was looking for a natural solution to my hair loss. I am 21 years old, and every time I brushed my hair enough hair would fall out to completely fill the brush. Betty gave me an herbal formula and said that it may take several months of use to see growth. Yet in just two weeks, I can brush my hair and lose only a fraction of the hair I used to. I am so excited about the difference it'll make several months from now - will definitely be coming back for more herbs here.

I had my first appointment with Betty today and she is just lovely. I'm 9 months pregnant and days away from my due date. My back feels amazing after her treatment, and hopefully this baby will get the hint that it is time to come out. She took her time, I never felt rushed, and my whole treatment felt very restful and rejuvenating.
