Questions frequently asked by customers include: What items can and can't be coated? Basically we can coat any conductive metal including steel, cast iron, aluminum, stainless, and copper. Because powder is cured at 400 degrees, we cannot coat plastic, wood, or fiberglass. What is the recommended prep procedure?

On new production parts we utilize a multi stage phosphate conversion coating prior to applying powder. On most items however, we prefer to start with a media blasted surface which insures a clean foundation and provides the best adhesion. We blast some pieces in house and subcontract larger items to a local blaster.

Very happy with the service i received at American Powder Coating. Fair, fast and reasonable. Made sure i was aware of chemicals that are okay and wont hurt the finish.

I just got my set of aluminum Jeep rims back and they look amazing.
To start they were really rough, but after sandblasting and American Powder doing their job -- they really look better than new or expensive after market rims.
The coating is that good.
Would recommend.
