I am a lifestyle photographer, wife, & mama to my sweet little Em who is 4.5 years old and about to become a big sister! I started my photography business in the SF Bay Area when my daughter was just 6 months old, which is when I decided to do do a little pivot from what I studied in grad school to become a full-time professional photographer.
We love sharing a good thing when we find it and we're all about supporting our amazing local community - our ohana - and the people who make it so great! Marissa has photographed our family several times. We never take photos as a whole family in our day to day life, so we invest in this annually to have some nice pictures of all of us together - and let me tell you, they are just beautiful! We have two young kids that are not very cooperative, but I am always amazed at how she manages to get such great photos. On top of that, she is so sweet and calm throughout the process, and the kids feel instantly at ease (which gives you a shot at a decent photo!).

We hired Marissa to do our newborn photography session, as we loved the style of her photographs. She did an amazing job! Everything from initial communication, to the day-of shoot, to getting the final photos was really easy. We were especially impressed with how thoughtful she is about the details, such as the right timing for optimal lighting. My wife also loved how Marissa provides different outfits that clients can wear. We highly recommend Marissa to anyone looking for newborn photography.

Motherhood has been the most humbling experience. Never have I felt more vulnerable, raw, or beautiful than when I was about to become a mother.
On January 29, 2018, Marissa was in my delivery room, capturing the moments I always want to remember about my firstborn - the moment I pushed her out, the moment my husband laid eyes on her for the first time, the moment I first saw her sweet face, the moment she first latched onto me, the moment we became a family of three.
Fast forward 15 months later to May 4, 2019, Marissa was in my recovery room to capture my firstborn meeting her little sister

We have been working with Marissa for maternity and newborn photos recently and she is fabulous. She has a good eye for light and composition. We love how our photos turned out. Working with Marissa was super easy and stress free too -- good communication, fast turn around, and she even helped with styling, providing pieces from her client wardrobe to make sure we all looked good. As a pregnant/postpartum mom with a toddler, this is exactly what I needed. Highly recommended!

I am so happy I got to work with Marissa! I have always been impressed with her eye for photography and she did not disappoint with our shoot. Every detail to achieve her overall vision was amazing. Her suggestions and attention to little details to achieve a beautiful shoot is impeccable. She is also a mother to a toddler so she understands how to work with them which is also a bonus. Her editing is perfect, I got comments where some of the photos should belong in a magazine and I agree! Very pleased with the photos and easy to work with!

We scheduled a family session in San Francisco shortly before the busy holiday season with Marissa and had such a great experience working with her! She not only took some amazing photos but also offered wardrobe advice and kept an eye on the weather for us to ensure we had the best location and time for quality photos. She was so good and patient with our 3 year old twins. It was a really pleasant experience all around! I'd highly recommend her to family and friends and I know we will be repeat customers :)
