I honestly can not say enough good things about our experience working with Drew Bird Photography. He was a joy to work with from beginning to end. Always fun to talk to, always exceeding expectations. Our wedding day was logistically complicated as it was on a mountainside, was accessed via chair lift, and we had record breaking heat plus high winds in the am. Drew took all this in stride. If I could do over all of my wedding planning during a global pandemic, I wouldn't change a thing, and that includes working with Drew and his team.
From the get-go, like many other pandemic-brides, finding trusting *quality* vendors was immensely stressful. Those that would be flexible working with an indecisive bride as myself was trying in itself. Drew, himself, is a super chill fellow and incredibly knowledgeable about his work. His vibe, I'd vouch, works so well to cancel out the chaotic energy bubbling inside of a wedding couple's mind.

Our journey with Drew started when we decided to collaborate together for my fabulous weekend-long family camp. I really wanted a photojournalist to capture our fun and Drew was the perfect fit! Fast forward a few months and Covid hit and I had to cancel my entire wedding and do a forced elopement. I am so glad we hired Drew to photograph our wedding and rehearsal dinner last summer. We couldn't be happier with the photo story he created. We chose Drew because of his strong background in photojournalism. I love the way he shot candid moments that showed the emotions of the day. He did a great job capturing the key parts of all of our Jewish traditions. When we were taking portraits, he gave us simple directions that put us at ease. Drew's talent in creating photo stories is obvious but I'm happy to report that he's also a one in a million person. He is the type of guy you might meet randomly on vacation and then become best friends for a week. This may not seem like an important consideration in choosing a photographer but I would argue that this trait is the most crucial component in the quality of Drew's work. We really enjoyed working with Drew! He's extremely professional, personable, and warm (and he's just a really cool guy). We felt very comfortable working with him, both leading up to our wedding and day of. Before the wedding, he was a huge help in planning the timeline. Oh man, where do I begin? First, Drew isn't a "wedding photographer". He is a visual storyteller. His photographs are interesting and engaging, and they make you think about who you're looking at, what they are doing, and most importantly, what they were feeling in that moment. Drew is a really, really good photographer, and he has a great eye, but he is also incredibly humble and kind, and genuinely curious about his "characters", as it were.

Drew was a wonderful photographer who was very easy to work with. We first used Drew for engagement photos. My wife and I both initially had qualms about taking professional photos, but Drew quickly put us at ease and we both really enjoyed our session with him and the photos turned out fantastically. Drew photographed our wedding in Washington, DC and Maryland this August and together with his partner for the day, Alexis did an absolutely fantastic job! We got married at an old church in the center of DC but the ceremony itself took place at Rocklands Farm in Maryland.
We both live in New York and did not have time to come down to DC to meet with Drew until only a few weeks before the wedding but just talking to Drew via Skype, we felt very comfortable with his professionalism and with his work of art.
