Evolution Submission Grappling
Evolution Submission Grappling is a proud affiliate of South Jersey Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under the Ricardo Almeida Association. Brian began his wrestling training in 1999 as a High School Wrestler. He began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu shortly after in 2003. He is currently competing professionally and holds the rank of Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

We pride ourselves in developing well rounded grapplers, by building a curriculum based on the takedowns of Wrestling combined with the submissions of No Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Catch Wrestling.
Services
Here at Evolution Submission Grappling we have the vision to create well rounded and complete Grapplers and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners. Our curriculum combines the takedowns of Wrestling with the submissions of bjj. Ignoring either the stand up game or the submission game results in incomplete Grapplers.

This is more than a gym, its a family! They have built my daughters self esteem from the ground up and I couldn't see us ever leaving! I only come to support my children and even I feel like I am part of the team!

There are Jiu-jitsu schools and there's ESG. The only school that makes you not only feel welcome, but equal. The coaching staff genuinely makes you feel like family. Including having students over for cook outs for events. If you're new, you'll love this school. If you're experienced, you'll love this school. Biggest thing for me is they encourage you to train with everyone and anyone. Visiting other schools isn't faux pas

I absolutely LOVE ESG. My daughter bounced through a few different activities not really falling in love with anything until we tried this. I couldn't ask for a better team of coaches who are patient with each child and are always supportive. I feel like not only did we find something that now BOTH of my kids are excited to learn but another family in the community. I would 110% recommend for kids or adults!

I've been to many Jiu-jitsu schools in my days. ESG is different. Theyre family. The environment is all inclusive and they're thrilled to have you there. The coaches compete all the time and always show up for the students at all competitions. Cant recommend highly enough

The quality of the coach , and members of the gym is amazing . If you want an atmosphere that’s consistent of hard work, Fun , and personal growth in the BJJ community attend a class . No matter the skill level the background including myself (none) as long as you are willing to learn they are willing to teach and go above and beyond to make sure we understand what we are doing and why . Keep up the great work!

I just recently started here and I’m hooked! Coach Brian & Mrs. Robyn have been nothing but welcoming! Coach Brian’s passion for grappling shows by how many people keep coming back day after day. I’ve only been there a short time but I’m excited for the future!

Me and a friend decided to come in for a class one day just to check things out and instantly fell in love. I’ve been going almost every day for a year now and it’s definitely become a second home. Coaches Brian and Robin Sheehan really do their best to create a welcoming family environment. Not only does esg have an amazing coaching staff they also have awesome students giving plenty of tough rounds. If you’re looking for a place to get in shape, learn self defense, or even get a little therapy session this is the place to be.

I started training here about a year ago after head coach Brian Sheehan stopped in my job and I asked about his bjj hoodie. I showed up to to class the next week and instantly was hooked. Coaches Brian and Robyn Sheehan take time to work with every student individually to make sure they are achieving their goals. ESG, it’s Coaches, and students have fostered a family style culture of hard work, sportsmanship, and accountability. Whether you’re looking to compete, gain some self defense skills, and or lose a few pounds this is the place to be!

If you are looking for a BJJ school, come hang out at ESG and you will quickly know you have found your gym. Coach Brian and Robyn have created a gym where if you’re willing to show up and put in the work, they have your back every step of the way. No matter your current level and/or what your Jiu Jitsu journey looks like, you have a team that supports you. Being someone with no martial arts experience, I always feel safe when rolling and have never been embarrassed to ask a question. Learning more about Jiu Jitsu and how other schools operate, we are given some amazing opportunities to train

If you are second guessing on starting your BJJ journey I would stop and check this place out!! You will feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the door. Robyn will introduce herself and introduce you to EVERYONE. Coach Brian is very knowledgeable and helpful. They will make sure you are paired with someone that will be able to work with you while teaching you at the same time. I’ve been going since November of 2019 and wished I had started sooner. You’ll be tired, you’ll tap more than you would like to, and you’ll get your butt kicked in more ways than one but it’s all worth it. It’s

My son Leo (10 YO) and myself (41 YO) are newbz to BJJ, but love it. The coaches/owners are amazing and made us feel 100% part of the Evolution family/team. They are willing to educate and answer every question we throw their way. More importantly, their passion is contagious and the only thing we would change is us being able to get there more often!
