Very unfortunate about the quality of food. The services was great and the only good thing about the food was the Chile con queso. Honestly paying 3 meals for $52? They are up charging you for quality that doesn't meet the price margin.

Salty salty salty. Reviews were great for this place so we decided to try. Food was greasy and extremely over salted.

Came here for a late lunch/early dinner.

Hole in the wall but the food was delicious!

It was a busy Sunday afternoon. We had a 15min wait for 2 people (were told up to 25min). Service was a little slow.

Covid protocols: They do limit amount of guests dining and enforce social distancing. Staff wears masks.

We ordered the mixed ceviche which was delicious! Wish the portion was a little bigger but good app for 2. We asked for chips but didn't get it.

The best item we enjoyed on the menu was the grilled red snapper with shrimp! It IS a wait! Totally worth it! Flavor profile was on point

I thought that the food and service were both very good. I had the big red fish and shrimp as a special meal. Sides were Asian-style fried rice and French fries. I enjoyed the meal, the seasoning was good, and the place had a good local vibe. This is the kind of place I enjoy hanging out in. There are several excellent Mexican-style seafood places in this area and this is definitely one of them. I want to return to give one of their seafood cocktails a try. Solid place!

Got the jumbo shrimp and scallops combo to go. The food was very tasty; the seafood was good. For my combo I chose fried rice, and it also came with a little salad, and bread, too. When I got here, there were 2 buildings with Tampico signs on them, but then with the help of a man directing traffic in the parking lot I found my way to the right location. Good meal!

The red snapper and shrimp were excellent. The plate for two can feed 3 or 4. We could not finish it. It had just enough spice but not too hot.

We have been dining here for nearly twenty years and Tampico on Airline never disappoints. The snapper a la plancha was super fresh along shrimp and scallops. We tried crab legs for first time which were also very fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend this local Houston gem

My family and I have been coming here for over 15 years!! We drive from the southeast of Houston to the northside! This place has amazing shrimp and fish fillet! They make the cocktail shrimp with this amazing sauce. I’ve tried other places and it’s not as good as the one they use here.
Some of the waitresses are on point but there’s been times that we don’t get good customer service like not refilling our drinks or taking too long to check if we need anything but other than that this is our go to place for seafood.

I was in the area waiting for an event and was hungry. I did a quick Google search and landed here. Food was delicious and looking forward to try other menu items. These were about $18 or $19... Stuffed shrimp with cheese and jalapeño. It comes with sides but I opted to have no sides due to my diet. This plate was a little expensive but they had many options that were priced better. Great food.

It was my first time here and I ordered my favorite dish... oysters on the half shell. I always love them, but, for some reason, these were memorably delicious. I guess, maybe, they were just that fresh... like the Budweiser that is brewed down the street.
The decor will remind you of the better times in Tampico, Mexico. The atmosphere is lively. I met a good friend who comes here frequently.
As some other Yelpers mentioned, I did have to ask for condiments. But, since they weren't busy, I got them immediately.
I can't wait to go back.

This is my favorite seafood restaurant. The food is delicious, the reason for the 3 stars are as follows:
1. Service is sometimes hard to come by as all of the waitresses are occupied. It takes a while.
2. There is no children's menu. That was a big hit to me, I have a toddler.

This was my first time going to Tampico Seafood & Cocina Mexicana #2 and I enjoyed the food and the service. Despite the fact that we came in right before they were about to close, the staff treated us well. They gave us time to eat and did not rush us even though we did not leave until 30 minutes after they closed. When I am in Houston, I won't hesitate to stop by there again and enjoy a good meal with great service.

The food was good, the tostones were really good, but the service was horrible, the waitress got us the appetizer in the middle of our food, she never refilled the water glasses my friend had to ask her three times to give more water to her boyfriend, definitely poor service

The whole fried tilapia was delicious, nice and crispy outside with a soft scrumptious tender inside. The rice was perfect. The shrimp taco on the othethand is not worth ordering, shrimp extremely small not a great flavor.

My dad and I wanted Mexican food on Christmas Eve after church. Our options were limited and we decided to stop here. Not bad, but not the best I've ever had.

The food:
I ordered the ceviche and a taco a la carte because I couldn't decide what I wanted. The ceviche is in a tomato based sauce and is somewhat sweet. I'm used to ceviche in lime juice which apparently is only done with the aguachiles (shrimp ceviche/cocktail). So it was OK. It had pico de gallo, avocados and tilapia. Served with saltines but I opted to eat it with chips. The taco was definitely the highlight of the

I have been eating fresh seafood in this area since most of the restaurants were just small seafood markets and ACTUALLY, you buy they fry it type of places. Tampico is by far my favorite seafood place in the area.

They have a great selection of seafood entrees on their menu at incredible prices, but for a real treat order something at market prices. For a fabulous experience, I recommend the Huachinango a la Plancha, which translated means grilled red snapper. The whole fish is seasoned just right and grilled to perfection. Why stop there? Ask them to top it with some grilled shrimp and scallops
