Young Family Dental has been providing exceptional dental care for families in Utah since 1972, when Dr. Wayne B. Young first opened the clinic. Since that time, his son, Dr. Christopher Young, has joined the practice along with many other talented dentists. We have also expanded to five convenient locations throughout Utah County and south Salt Lake County.

I’ve had a bunch of work done recently and Dr. Hammert always takes good care of me. Stacy is usually assisting him and she is so nice and welcoming to me every time. Stacy always make me feel comfortable and is great at explaining everything they’re doing to put me at ease. It’s the best dental office I’ve ever been to.

Had throbbing pain(that came and went in severity but was still constant)and some swelling about 2 weeks after a deep filling. It became unbearable Fri night, and this was the only place open on a Sat. The pain had subsided when the appointment happened but I tried to explain that I was worried it would come back. The dentist looked at the x-ray and said she believed no procedure was neccesary and that the pain was due to me being young and having larger nerves, and she prescribed some flouride toothpaste. She said that it was not that serious.

I found this office about 7 months ago. Since then I've had a few cleanings, some small cavities filled and 3 crowns I've been putting off for a long time because of "trust" issues with other dentists.
Let me tell you, this place rocks. Friendly office staff, hygienists, and assistants. Dr. Young is no nonsense, getting business done quickly and succinctly. And it's not hard to get an appointment, in my experience, which is awesome.

I had a very bad experience just getting a cleaning here. I recently visited again and got told I have two root canals a crown and 19 cavities that need done. I decided to get a second opinion and turns out I only have 8 cavities that’s all! Makes me wonder who has gone through with their ridiculous procedures 😢

I have been with Young Family Dental one year in Saratoga Springs and had a bridging (front tooth), two root canals and one filling. I had some problems with the bridging and wasn't sure if it was due to my own tooth or the dentist technique (I got an inflammation and needed a root canal in just an half year after the bridging).

My husband made an appointment here and left being told that he had quite a few cavities and needed impacted wisdom teeth removed. His wisdom teeth are fully erupted so, he went to another dentist for a second opinion. The second dentist tried to call Young Family Dental and request my husband's x-rays. They refused telling them if my husband wanted them he had to come and pay them $50. The second dentist we went to confirmed that the wisdom teeth were fully erupted and removal was completely optional. They also found significantly LESS cavities. They also told my husband they get lots of patients

I had a friend get her wisdom teeth extracted and Dr. Young didn’t even introduce himself or warn her when he was going to start pulling teeth. He was very aggressive in his mannerism. I later witnessed firsthand when he did the same to a different patient. He didn’t introduce himself and just started pulling things with ZERO warning. He was so rushed and unprofessional. Didn’t even put a bib on the patient because he was so rushed. He has terrible bedside manner. The assistants on the other hand are great and so sweet and kind and personable.

The front office staff are very kind and welcoming. They do a good job at making you feel comfortable. For getting a cleaning they were fine as well with my root canal. But today I got two fillings, and it was the roughest of my life. The dentist must have been busy because he went so fast and didn't seem to be doing a super careful job. It hurt pretty bad (even though i was numbed up) and my teeth are now hurting where they didn't before. I know this will probably go away in a day or two, but I've never had a filling hurt this bad.

The dentist did a terrible job and caused me so much pain when I had went in to get my wisdom teeth out I had told the doctor multiple times that I could still feel pain and I wasn't really numb and he didn't even care and just kept getting angry with me and was repeating that I would feel pulling and it wiggling I also came out with multiple chipped teeth

STAY AWAY! I went in with a groupon for a cleaning and exam, and came out of the appointment being told I had four cavities, one of which, and I quote, required "immediate attention". Their estimate to treat and fill all four cavities came to around $600! After going to my trusted family dentist family a month later to get these supposed cavities filled, I was told I didn't have a SINGLE CAVITY and there wasn't even any sign of one. I DO NOT recommend this office. I have never had such bad luck with any dentists. I have had four cavities filled with Young Family Dental and three of the fillings have fallen out leading me to have to get a root canal in one of my tooth and refilling the other hole. I just recently had another filling fall out. I was on Medicaid when I was pregnant so I was able to get the fillings and they were covered by insurance. Now I am not able to get this last filling replace because my insurance doesn't cover. I am beginning to wonder if I ever really needed the one root canal they did on the tooth

Visited Young Family Dental after moving to Orem because they were close and accepted my insurance. DENTAL NIGHTMARE
Dr Young was the worst dentist I've had so far in all the valley. I had to get silver fillings but to my knowledge was unaware that he was in a really bad mood when we started my procedure. He was struggling at first to get the fillings all perfect and then suddenly dropped everything abruptly and went to his office. The assistant apologized for him but after 20 mins of sitting with my mouth numb and all bloody he comes in to finally finish still angry.

I love this facility. The staff is friendly and very competent. They are on top of insurance companies, they call to get approval, and do all the work so you show up and get teeth fixed!! Got all the work done we needed and after they checked with my insurance there was a zero balance after paying them over $1k. They checked with my insurance company! Then a month later I get a bill for nearly $200 and after spending time with my insurance company on the phone going through all the charges, I only owed $30 after all said and done.

I arrived at young family dental, and was treated like a burden by all the staff. Once in the chair, some dental assistant came in and pretends to turn up the gas...(which he absolutely did not)...he shot up both sides, very painfull, the most of painfull. Then, the Dr, who never addressed me directly, and who's face I did not see, began removing a tooth on the right top. CANNOT BE TRUSTED WITH MEDICAL INFORMATION OR CARE OF CHILDREN AND ELDERLY. My dental nurse/hygienist began by telling me she just came from vacation and that she really did not want to be at work. Such an awesome staff. I moved here from Indiana and have always gone to the same dentist since I was young so going somewhere new was somewhat frightening, but I have had such a great experience here! I got a root canal done here and it has gone so smoothly plus the pricing has been so affordable and the timing was impeccable they got me in and out no sitting for hours waiting. Well I'm not sure who was here a few months ago, but I walked in today and had a wonderful experience with Young Family Dental. All my techs were great and were able to address my concerns. I was in and out in about an hour and a half, which included my x-rays, cleaning, fixing of my retainer, and seeing the actual dentist. Not bad!

The receptionists have no idea what they are doing, they will mess up your insurance and then enter into the room during your appointment and tell you you need to pay a ridiculous amount and give you tons of false information.
