Dr. Loveland has been around long enough to have "seen it all, " and he is often asked to consult with family law attorneys regarding a variety of issues. Beginning as a young psychology intern teaching parenting classes, Dr. Loveland has been presenting at various workshops and seminars throughout his career.

When a new client and I are discussing the custody evaluation process during that parent's first appointment, two of the most frequently asked questions are, "What will happen during the parent/child observation?" As a licensed psychologist in private practice since 1978 I have been afforded the opportunity as a therapist to meet and work with hundreds of children, adolescents, and families.
Services
Dr. Robert Loveland is a now retired licensed psychologist who provided clinical services to children, adolescents, and families for well over 40 years. Licensed in Oregon in 1978, Dr. Loveland founded and then directed the Willamette Valley Family Center, P.C., a large private group practice in Oregon City, Oregon.
These types of consultation services will continue to be accepted on a case-by-case basis and as time allows. Attorneys are welcome to contact Dr. Loveland for more information as well as his availability and fees. For those attorneys unfamiliar with Dr. Loveland's work or to see the foundation for his consultation qualifications please see Service History.
You will not find anything like that here, the reason being that I do not believe that a custody and parenting plan evaluator should engage in that type of self-promotion for several reasons. I do receive a regular stream of thank you notes from clients and a good deal of positive feedback from family law professionals, in addition to more referrals that I can take.
When a new client and I are discussing the custody evaluation process during that parent's first appointment, two of the most frequently asked questions are, "What will happen during the parent/child observation?" One of the most difficult issues for children following their parents' divorce is learning how to successfully negotiate the parenting plan transitions between households as they travel back and forth between parental homes.
As noted in Current Services, Dr. Loveland is providing limited consultation services in his retirement. Potential consultation clients can best reach Dr. Loveland through his email address at robertlovelandphd@gmail.com. Former therapy clients and clients who have participated in custody and parenting plan evaluations can best reach him by email as well.
