Dr. Roxanne Rottiers graduated from Ferris State University and went on to receive her doctorate from Michigan College of Optometry in 2015. She has been on multiple mission trips through VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) to help those in need of eye care. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Michigan Optometric Association, and the Scleral Lens Contact Lens Society.
A vision exam is recommended every year to monitor for vision changes and early diagnosis of eye disease. We recommend all new patients have a dilated eye exam during their first evaluation at our office. During a medical eye exam you may be dilated to monitor your systemic or ocular condition. Depending on the individual and the condition being monitored frequent evaluations may be necessary to monitor for disease progression.
Even if no eye or vision problems are apparent, the American Optometric Association recommends scheduling your baby's first eye assessment at 6 months. Dr. Rottiers will test for: excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, eye movement ability, and other eye health problems.
Myopia, or nearsightedness, is when people can see objects up close, but objects far away appear blurry. In the case of myopia, the eye grows too long causing light entering the eye to focus at a point before reaching the retina, thus causing a blurry image. Nearsightedness is classified into two categories, myopia and high myopia.
Our staff is dedicated to helping you find the lenses that best fit your specific visual demands. Whether you work long hours on a computer, are a student, or use glasses for fine detail work, our opticians are available to personally help you find the perfect solution for your needs. Great vision starts with healthy eyes.

Friendly and professional staff! I loved the environment, very clean and a neat set up. I went for my 10 month old's first eye appointment and Dr. Rottiers did an awesome job of keeping baby happy and calm. I don't wear glasses and am jealous because I LOVE all the different designs of glasses. I would highly recommend this place.

It was the most thorough eye exam I've ever had! And I've been wearing glasses over 45 years. Very professional. The perscription was spot on! I did have an issue with the height of bifocal, and perrifieal vision to the sides was poor. They sent the glasses back in and they correctd the issues at no extra cost. Very pleased with my new glasses.I'll be going back in JANUARY for new sunglasses when my insurance resets!

I couldn’t be more pleased with the care I received at the Grand Ledge Eye Boutique. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The optometrist was nice and gave me a very thorough exam. They have a great selection of both traditional and fun frames. With the help of the staff I found several frames that I liked and they helped me pick a favorite. I will certainly be going back again next year.
