Everyone feels sad sometimes. This is just one of the unavoidable facts of being a living, breathing human being. Sadness is one thing, but major depressive disorder is a whole different animal. At Affinity Treatment Centers, we strive to help people in Vista and San Diego with major depressive disorder.
Although there are several types of bipolar disorder, the disease is always characterized by periods of high energy and euphoria - the manic state - and equally intense sad or disconnected feelings - the depressive state. Now and then, everyone feels "low" for no obvious reason. Bipolar disorder isn't just a brief change in mood: The phases can last weeks, months or even years.
Feeling occasional twinges of anxiety is a completely normal part of being a busy and fully-functioning adult. However, if your anxiety is a nearly constant presence, then it may be an anxiety disorder. An anxiety disorder can make living a normal life difficult, causing intense fear and worry that can be debilitating.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a complex of symptoms experienced after a life-threatening event. Although many people associate PTSD with combat, it can be suffered by anyone. For example, first-responders like EMTs or firefighters are at risk. So are victims of abuse and natural disasters.

This place is absolutely unprofessional. Some of the people there have no business being in a profession where they need to respect others. The way they handled the situation with my wife was not called for. I am upset to know that if things do not go a certain way, they threaten and mistreat their patients. Being an educator, you have to understand that no matter how much someone is being difficult, you do not threaten, mistreat, or verbally harm them. Show some professionalism and practice the coping skills that this place is supposed to be teaching you.

This place is a sham. I was yelled and screamed at here. I was left on the side of the road to fend for myself where I didn’t know anyone. I was insulted and told I wasn’t good enough. I was just trying to get help. Luckily I found a place who did help me and did care. Please don’t go here. Save yourself the heartache and trauma.

Worst residential treatment center I have ever been to. Judy, the owner, verbally abused and punished me (banned me from the kitchen and insisted on preparing all my meals because she said I was eating too much [and other put downs]) to the point of my parents transferring me to a different residential treatment center in California (D’Amore, a compassionate and committed treatment center in Costa Mesa) to complete my dual-diagnosis completed care. While at Affinity I was so overly-medicated against my will that my jaw was locked and I was drooling and tremoring, constantly. Thankfully D’Amore

Zero Stars - they mistreated/abused my son, Judith ( owner/administrator) screamed at me, verbally abused me and blatantly lied ( I have witnesses) , and they did not provide the care they promised in any way shape or form! We took him out after one week . Make no mistake, they prey on people who are in distress ! Read the fine print - they will only return 5% of the $12000 they demand up front from you if you are not satisfied and end up leaving. The facility needs to be shut down.

My experience was with my son a few years ago and things may changed. I agree with many of the negative reviews, they are consistent with our experience. If this is your first time going to a treatment center, you may be tempted to try it. You are wiser and better off with a more traditional treatment center.

I found the exact opposite of some of the negative reviews on this place. They did a terrific job of stabilizing me and getting me headed in the right direction. The director was kind and supportive and I could always go to her if I had a question. This is the best treatment center I have been to and I have been to quite a few. I highly recommend Affinity

PLEASE READ BEFORE SENDING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. The site is very misleading basically the "staff" is just one woman who owns and lives in the house. Judy is the most apathetic, cold hearted woman I have ever met don't be fooled! You barely even get to meet with the doctor (for 30 minutes) or therapist and the only person you can turn to when you need help is the lady running the house who doesn't even know how to handle an anxiety attack, she tells you to turn your life to god and your anxiety will go away?? She has no knowledge on mental disorders. I experienced emotional abuse while here being
