You're not alone. I help my clients discover how to nourish their bodies so they feel better in and about their bodies. Stay accountable to your goals as you shifting away from an "all or nothing" diet mindset and continue to see results. Maya has taught me how to adjust how I pair different food groups during meals and snacks throughout the day so I can still eat the foods I love and lose weight.

This is the first time in my life I've been able to lose 9 pounds in a healthy way that is sustainable long term with my lifestyle. After eating a low-carb, high-fat diet for several years, I went to Maya to transition to a more balanced diet and lose 15 pounds. She provided a sensible plan for weight loss that incorporated healthy carbs and encouraged me to keep a food journal.
Services
A vegetarian since age 18, my mom taught me the importance of nourishing your body with whole foods. She taught me the basics of cooking and how to fuel your body without meat. I was interested in nutrition but didn't consider it to be a career until five years after I'd graduated from college. I was living in Australia where I was learned about the cattle trade and how cruelly these animals were treated.
What this is: a roadmap so you can put an end to diet frustration, weight cycling and feeling overwhelmed. You'll get a customized plan that focuses on how to balance your meals, what foods help you stay full, how to save time at the grocery store and how order from your favorite restaurant. For added accountability between sessions, you'll get access to an app-based food journal.

Maya has been so helpful in figuring out how to make shifts and changes to my normal routine that don't feel like deprivation, but have a real impact on my overall health and lifestyle. I really appreciate the way she is willing to work with whatever circumstances or craziness my schedule throws at her (learning to eat better while traveling, for example), and is always looking for solutions that don't feel tricky.

Maya is an amazing nutrition coach and has been right from the start of our sessions! She patiently listens to my needs, my challenges and provides very tailored options catered to what I need and whats sustainable for me. Since working with Maya, I've effortlessly lost 20lbs without ever feeling restricted. I feel much more empowered and I have a much better relationship with food. I had been struggling with crashing in the afternoon almost daily for many weeks. After my meet and great with Maya, I decided to give a three month session a go. Working together with her, we examined some food behaviors and made some changes to my diet. I followed her advice on salt, caffeine, and vegetable intake. At the end of our time together, I had gone a whole week without crashing in the afternoon. I'm really jazzed about this and glad to get additional time and energy back in my day.

I just wanted to leave a review for the initial call. If anyone out there is like me and is on the fence about even setting up the initial free phone call, this is your sign to do it. Maya is very kind and helpful. You can feel that she genuinely wants to help people through their pregnancy. Before starting to work with Maya, I didn't have a plan and my meals were all over the place. I wasn't sure how much I needed to eat, how to balance my meals, and I felt super anxious about how much I was eating. After working with Maya, I now have a better understanding of how to eat nourishing food and feel great doing it!

Working with Maya made me realize this journey is not about giving into the hype of trying new diets or fads, but rather going back to the basics and fueling our bodies with proper nutrition. My personal journey in meeting health goals is not over; however, now, more than ever, I feel better prepared for success. Maya gave me all of the knowledge, tools, support, encouragement, and understanding I needed to get more than I had hoped for out of this endeavor.

Working with Maya has been amazing! For me has been always hard to control my diet unless I have a frequent meeting with a nutritionist. Maya has really helped me understand my body and the importance of my daily choices and how I can live a healthy live without feeling I’m on a diet. I’ve worked with her for 2 months, and the results are great! Slow and steady weight loss without feeling extremely restricted. My experience with Maya was extremely positive. I’ve always eaten pretty healthy, but my portions were always huge. Maya helped me figure out the right serving sizes and the balance of the various food groups (carbs, protein, fat). You are encouraged to log in what you eat by simply taking a picture of your meal with a short description. She always made sure that I wasn’t feeling hungry and that I liked what I was eating. Maya is INCREDIBLE to work with. For someone who knows so much, she approaches the subject matter with humility and grace. Whether it be questions or confessions about my diet and nutrition, she's always so warm and knowledgeable.

Maya is excellent. I had never worked with a nutritionist before and went to Maya when I was feeling very lost regarding nutrition, weight management and general health after a very tough year. She is extremely responsive and gave me a lot of recipes, a general portion/eating guide, gave me specific recommendations for restaurants and we had a weekly check in. She completely changed my outlook on what to eat and I lost 8 pounds in under two months without exercising on a regular basis and just focusing on what I put into my body.

I was very happy with my experience with Maya. She is very informative and does a great job with breaking down the reasoning and explanations for me to understand. Maya is amazing! Whether you need advice as to what to order at a restaurant (she will literally go over any menu that is sent to her), what to eat at home for meals and snacks, or what items to buy at the grocery store (including her favorite brands - which were all great), she is always available to give suggestions and advice. She offers a variety of options, so you do not feel like you are on a strict diet.
