You don't have to be a combat veteran to have experienced significant trauma. Even seemingly small daily stressors - when unaddressed - can take a toll, leaving you stuck in a cycle of negativity. It can be difficult to live in the present moment without resolving past trauma. My practice is trauma-informed - a warm, accepting, and judgment-free environment in which you can free your mind from the burdens of the past to focus on today's joys.
No matter your past, deep and lasting healing is possible through holistic care for the mind, body, and spirit. I focus on the whole individual, helping to turn a vicious cycle of poor physical, mental, and spiritual health into wellness and thriving. I use a customized, integrative approach to address your specific needs.

I am Carolyn Coffey, and I have a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln and am professionally licensed with the State of Nebraska as an Independently Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP, CPC). I practice holistic, integrative counseling. When it comes to mental health therapy, the cutting-edge, most effective practitioners understand that the mind, body, and spirit are connected.
My approach to counseling is revolutionary and effective because it takes into account the fact that the mind and body are interconnected. For too long, the West has followed the (wrong!) principle that the mind and body are separate and do not affect one another. But the latest research is revealing that they are very much connected, and thus mental health cannot be achieved without a baseline of physical health, and vice versa.

I am the office manager for Chapters Counseling and Carolyn is one of the most supportive & encouraging counselors I know. She is professional and thoughtful always making her clients first priority and making them feel welcome and cared for. Her clients love her and have let us know how much they appreciate her thoughtfulness and commitment to them as she listens and helps them through difficult circumstances. I also love working with her. She is sensitive, caring, smart, and has been an amazing person to work with!

Carolyn is a skilled professional who is thoughtful, caring, understanding, and supportive of those she helps. She was an integral part in saving our marriage when my wife and I were in a very difficult situation. I wrote this review so those who are considering counseling would know that Carolyn was there for us when we needed her most and she will be there for you too. There is nobody I would recommend other than Carolyn.

I would highly recommend Chapters Counseling and more specifically Carolyn Coffey. I'm an independent woman with views of maintaining my own spiritual, mental, and physical health. So when I stepped outside my comfort zone and sought counseling it was the hardest and best decision I had made to help me get a healthy perspective on situations in my life. I'm very thankful for the time and patience Carolyn took to build a strong, trusting relationship that has left me in a better place now than when I started!
