A native of Houston, TX, Dr. Phillip Applegate, DPM, graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.
There, he co-authored a study on the endoscopic management of intermetatarsal neuromas, which was published in the Open Journal of Orthopedics. He was also active nationally with the American Podiatric Medical Students' Association, where he served as national president. Dr. Rayven Bridges, DPM, a native of East Texas, attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX where she served as captain of her competitive cheerleading team.

Texas Foot and Ankle Specialists proudly treats patients on the west and southwest side of Houston with office locations in Katy/Cinco Ranch and Sugar Land. Both locations have easy access to the elevator and handicapped parking for those who need it. Adjacent to major highways, both clinics are ideally located to serve the foot and ankle needs of our fellow Houstonians.
Hundreds of ailments have been reported to the foot and ankle complex, with many more likely to be reported in future years. Some stem from hereditary/genetic factors, though the overwhelming majority arise from the cumulative effects of normal wear and tear. Most issues respond well to conservative management, with a select few requiring eventual surgical intervention.

Found this place online and it had great reviews. Booked in with Dr Bridges and have had 3 appointments so far. She always explains things very clearly and let's you know what's going on, what the next course of action is and also different options available to you. Very good pricing too. Would definitely give them a try. I have plantar fasciitis by the way.

They got to me very fast. Dr. Applegate is very good, sweet and hyper. I’m a bit hyper as well so it was a very animated visit. Just used my inserts for 1 1/2 hours this morning at work. I could tell a difference once I took them off. Only time will tell but I like that he doesn’t go straight to “let’s have surgery”.

My daughter had 4 ingrown toenails and we went to Dr. Bridges to have them removed. The entire staff are so kind and friendly. I have never been to a doctors office where everyone working their are so genuinely friendly and caring. Dr. Bridges is so down to earth and puts you at ease immediately. She did a fantastic job from start to finish. She is awesome!!!!!

Dr. Bridges was amazing! She made me feel soooo comfortable because I was very nervous and she talked me through the entire process. Didn’t even feel when the needle was going into my foot I didn’t realize it… that is how amazing she was! I was so pleased! If I need them in the future I will definitely be going back there.

I didn’t know if I had a broken toe. I called the office, they were super friendly, offered me a same day appointment, answered all my questions, emailed me the paperwork. Then once I got to the office, I was taken back quickly and I didn’t wait in the room long. The staff was all friendly and kind. Dr. Applegate is awesome. He made me feel completely comfortable. He asked as if I was a long time patient when this was actually my 1st appointment. I highly highly recommend this Katy clinic.

It is sometimes difficult to get into see a doctor when you are a new patient. When I called, they gave me an appointment the next day. Dr. Bridges was very nice and professional. She didn’t act like she was in a hurry, and she spent time with me. She explained what was wrong and explained the conservative and surgical approach. The staff was wonderful! They all made me feel right at home. An appointment I was dreading was turned into a pleasant experience. I waited about 15 minutes total to see the doctor. The office was immaculate. I have found my podiatrist!

This would be my first time ever posting a review. Dr Applegate is by far the best foot doctor I've seen and I've been to a few in the past. I had a small procedure done to remove an ingrown toenail. He was so calm which made me feel calm. He talked me through the anesthesia shot which made me feel a lot better about it. I highly recommend him.

I have been chasing my issue for 3 years. I went to 5 different doctors. My primary, rheumatologist, dermatologist, orthopedic, and finally Dr. Bridges. Dr. Bridges nailed down my issue in minutes! After 3 years and a hell of a lot of pain, she cracked the case! Dr. Bridges was extremely professional, knew exactly what was going on, and literally 'fixed' me with proper insoles and ankle braces. And the orthopedic wanted to do major surgery on my ankles. Good grief!!!

Today was my first time finally seeing a specialist for a painful ingrown toenail. From the secretary at the front desk to the nursing staff and of course, Dr. Applegate, I felt comforted and taken care of 100%. I appreciated Dr. Applegate explaining to me in detail how ingrown toenails even occur and how we can proceed with treatment. He did not make me feel pressured in getting the procedure done today which allowed me to really think through the process. He walked me through every step of the procedure with me after I decided to do it and the procedure itself was painless and quick! Thank you

Dr. Applegate and his staff were great! The office is very nice and welcoming and almost no wait time at all. I was nervous to find out what was wrong with my foot, but Dr. Applegate took his time explaining everything thoroughly and even gave me several options for treatment. This was my first visit to Texas Foot and Ankle. It seems I have an ingrown toenail. The staff is absolutely wonderful. They come to your room to check you out so you can take care of payment and book future appointments right in the room. The doctor is absolutely hilarious- a trait I look for in all of my doctors. He explained everything to me, gave me my options and took care of answering all of my questions.
I look forward to coming back to have my ingrown nail removed. Total confidence it will be an enjoyable experience.

I have been to see Dr. Applegate twice over toe nail issues. I have found the staff to be friendly and the wait time reasonable.
Dr. Applegate is great! First, he seems to know what he is talking about. On top of that he is just very friendly, answers your questions and does not seem to be in a rush to get out of the exam room and on to another paitent. I would highly recommend.

Dr. A and his staff have minimized my Plantar Fasciitis pain with inserts, exercises and compression. NO shots or surgery. His staff are sweet and friendly and he makes you feel like you are his only patient. Never rushing. I don't have to see him anymore unless things change. Both good and sad. Thank you Dr. A. My doggie thanks you too, we can go on our walks again.

I visited Texas Foot and Ankle Spec. based on reviews I found here on Yelp. I am so glad that I did! Funny enough, I felt it was meant to be as we walked into the office and realized that it was the same office space that our Primary Care Doc (Dr. Foster) had just moved out of.
Dr. Applegate and ALL of his staff that we met were very nice and helpful. The customer service of the team, combined with the expertise and bedside manner of Dr. Applegate is top notch.
