Warning signs your alternator requires repair or replacement include dimming headlights, noise, the smell of burning rubber, and loss of power. Your brakes are your car's biggest safety feature, so they need to be working perfectly to best protect you and your family on the road. Our ASE-certified mechanics are qualified to handle transmission rebuilds and transmission replacements.

Our shop does clutch repair and transmission services for automatic, standard, and overdrive transmissions. For many years it was common knowledge that when your car was due for maintenance or you needed automotive repair, you went to the dealership. They were the only place with all the knowledge and tools that could fix everything under the hood.
Services
We started Master Tech Automotive in 1991 because our community of Vancouver needed a good, honest, and reliable auto repair shop that people could depend on to service and repair their vehicles. We have been happy to provide reliable and affordable service for nearly thirty years now to customers across Clark County eager to get the best in auto repair.
We offer a wide range of auto repair services for domestic and import cars and trucks on the market. The automotive services we provide are performed by ASE-certified, expert auto repair mechanics who have years of experience handling everything from oil changes to complete engine overhauls.

We use high-tech diagnostic equipment to guarantee your vehicle is repaired and serviced correctly the first time, and we only use the highest-quality replacement parts, filters, oils, and components when it comes to your car.Our shop offers free and comprehensive 55-Point inspections at the time of service to give you a good overall evaluation of your vehicle.
Use regular gasoline: Unless your vehicle requires premium gasoline, filling up your vehicle with high-octane gas is a waste of money. The premium gas doesn't boost your gas mileage or performance. If you're not sure what grade works best for your vehicle, your owner's manual will tell you. You can also ask your mechanic what grade to use.
At our Vancouver, WA auto repair shop, we offer full-service auto repair and vehicle maintenance, alongside honest recommendations for car care. We've been serving the Vancouver area since 1991, so we know our customers well. You want value and quality, and we think you deserve value and quality. At Master Tech Automotive, that's what we aim to deliver.

They fixed my sons car for a reasonable price. They were so nice and explained everything. No extra charges and warranty their work. We had a great experience which is so hard to find in a mechanic!

My wife and I will not be returning. Our battery light came on earlier this week and they told us we needed a new alternator which came out to a $1200 fix.

We paid it and 2-3 days later the battery light came on again. My wife took it back into the shop and they said the belt was frayed and "close to snapping", it cost around $200 to fix. They also claimed they found a mouse nest in the engine (see the picture they gave us). It seems unlikely to me that mice would be able to nest in our engine since we drive this car on a daily basis.

I don't understand how they could have missed

I would give them 0 stars if I could. brought my car to this place twice for the same issue. The first time spending almost $600 for laundry list of things they said needed done because my car was having issues starting. I got the recommended things done and it seemed to make no difference with the intermittent start up problems. Less than 2 weeks later I couldn't get my car to start at all and had to have it towed to the shop where they claimed it needed a new starter (seems like something they could have figured out the first time if that was the issue) they then charged me $1200 dollars

Stressed out with money crunch and not knowing what went wrong with my car. Brought it here and Ryan & crew took away that stress. Able to get me back on the road with a quick turnaround. Any other car issues I have in the future, I know I'm coming back here. Friendly and give you options.

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. When I first decided to take my car here I overlooked the reviews because all businesses will have a bad review here and there. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. They warranty their work and parts, but as soon as you tell them they messed up and you tell them to fix it, they get defensive and say that you are just trying to get free stuff. Took my car in April 29th for shaking in the rear, while driving at certain speeds. In the inspection it says "Reccomend replace rear tires, before any further diagnosis. Rear tires out of round, possible broken belt

When my wife's 2011 Subaru forester had a really bad knocking noise I googled where to go. After looking over reviews compared to amount to reviews on Google yelp I went with Master tech. Rion greeted us was friendly and accommodating. And he answered all of our questions gave us options things that needed to be done in a priority list and work to stay within a budget that we had. Having just moved to Vancouver from Warren Oregon... I'm glad to have a new mechanic!

I would give a zero but it's not an option. Brought my truck in for an e brake replacement, incorrect installation. Told me I was missing a part I went down and checked it out it was incorrectly installed but had spent hours looking for the part both on the road and at the dealer but after realizing they incorrectly installed it, they argued with me and told me I was wrong except that I have two of these trucks and was able to describe what they did wrong so that it could be repaired correctly paid over the phone and asked that my keys be left in the truck so I could pick it up later that

I thought I had a wiring problem with my car and was told over the phone it would be $100 to diagnose plus parts. When picked up my car I was told it took an hour to figure out it was just a bad fuse and lightbulb plus a half hour to put car back together. I was charged over $200 with tax. I can't tell you what I feel more of. Rage, embarrassment or just plan stupid. I would have liked to complain and dispute the outrageous $ amount but I'm the most calm mellow person you could ever meet but when I get angry it's not pretty and probably wouldn't have done any good. I think

I know nothing about cars, I also panic when anything is slightly wrong with my car. The people here, specifically James were so helpful and nice. They explained everything and didn't give up on me when I wasn't sure I could afford the fix. They helped me find financing and kept my anxiety at bay. 10/10 would recommend and will come back.

Awesome shop!
My alternator belt broke, draining my battery, causing my van to break down on the freeway. I also had been having issues with my radiator leaking causing my heater to have issues.
I called Master Tech for help, at 7:53am They sent a tow truck, which arrived in about 15 minutes. I was in the shop within 1/2 hour, or so, of calling them. They inspected my van and told me my alternator belt had indeed worn out and broken, and I had a bad leak at the bottom of my radiator, (which I had already diagnosed both issues myself).
They said they could get me a new radiator and belt both delivered

I'm sort of shocked to see such negative reviews on here, because these guys have been a Godsend for me. I took my car in for an oil change, and they were quick and efficient. Answered all my questions about future servicing needs thoroughly. My tires are low profile, and keep getting low due to pressure drops from the cold weather we've been having. I've run my car down 3 times now asking them to refill the air every time it gets low, and they happily and graciously take care of it for me every time. I'll definitely be back for any future auto needs.

My mother was referred to this shop by the DEQ (along with others)when she failed emissions. She looked at their website and it listed DEQ repairs as a service provided. She called them and said she needed this service and they said they could provide it so an appointment was made. When the car was picked up my mother was handed a bill for $138.00 which is $12.00 less than is required by the DEQ to pass your car. When my niece who was with my mother protested they told them you asked for a diagnostic and by the way our DEQ certified mechanic hasn't been here for months!!! So they booked an

I have been to many different mechanic shops in Vancouver and this is bar far the best I have experienced to date. The customer service is awesome. James the front clerk explained all issues accordingly and also went out and got his elbow dirty when the shop appeared to be short staffed. The only knock I would say is that my bill was a little higher than I anticipated, however when it comes to vehicle repair I understand that for better service and gaurantees one must pay more. I recommend visiting this location.

Being 600 miles from home, building a custom deck for my kid brother. My 04 Chevy Silverado was making noises, growling howling, and whining. Also transfer case was loosing more fluid with every mile.. after some research I took it to Master Tech Automotive. They first diagnosed it with the transfer case needed a new one or rebuilt.. quoted $1500-$2900 for rebuild, both diffs serviced. Being in the situation I was I said let's do it. Next day J.G. calls from shop and said rear end is shot.. needs rebuild, and transfer case has hole in it.Says he is confident he can still make deadline

First of all it cost $120 just do diagnose the issue. My upstream and downstream o2 sensors were malfunctioning as well as a brake-light socket being blown. Ok, no problem. I don't want them to do the sensors because they were charging like $900 (not totally unreasonable among mechanics) but then they tell me it'll be $100 to fix the light so I tell them ok fix the light.

10 minutes later I get a call "we can't actually fix your light we have to order a harness and it'll make the cost go up to $300." How do you not know you didn't have the part beforehand

Needed a mechanic right away and didn't want to drive to our usual mechanic in Oregon. They were upfront, friendly, informative and made no attempt to up sale. Was cautious since I am female but everyone I talked to agrees their assessment, quick turn around and price I received were all very good.
I no longer need to take my business out of the area and plan to take our other cars to Master Tech in Vancouver.
