called in an order for pork sandwich and boudin balls
It took 30 minutes... Don't know why but, the food was fantastic.

Sandwich was filled with flavorful pork and veggies, boudin very tasty!

First visit, was intrigued by the idea of Vietnamese-Cajun, fusion of two of my favorite cuisines. I opted for the Viet side this time, egg rolls and pho with brisket and meatballs. It's counter service, and not particularly speedy, so I began this write-up in anticipation. It's an airy space on Seawall, with big windows and views of the rollers coming in from the Gulf.

The food is fantastic! I'm from Austin and the food is really good. I enjoyed the fried rice and grilled fish.

The reason I took off one star is because of how long it takes for the food to come out and it doesn't come out all at once. By the time my food came out, my parents were done eating already.

I would dine again but only do takeout to avoid the long wait.

Our biggest regret with this place is that we didn't try it out sooner. We saw on the menu that they sold banh mi sandwiches so we pulled in and ordered a couple roast pork banh mi, a small chicken fried rice and an order of their spring rolls. In my opinion the most important part of a banh mi is the bread. A proper banh mi is made on a baguette with a light crunchy exterior and a fluffy airy inside. I have been eating Bahn Mí (Vietnamese sandwiches) for decades as I really enjoy them. But, in all my years I have never had one as delectable as the one at Viet Cajun! The French bread roll was freshly baked, just the right amount of crunch in the crust without being too hard. The bbq pork was perfectly seasoned and piled up without reservation. I could eat this sandwich every day. It's a good thing that I don't live in Galveston!

Went for a late lunch. Ordered the boudin balls and a Shrimp PoBoy. The menu is very diverse from
burgers to Pho. Small place with limited seating. Lady at the counter was very friendly. Food came out hot. The poboy was loaded with shrimp and the bread was toasted but light and fluffy. It passed for a poboy roll. Had to ask for cocktail sauce. The fries were no joke and perfectly cooked. The boudin balls were awesome. I’ll be back and bringing friends.

Glad I stopped. Good location. A good mix of menu items to choose from (think burgers to Pho). Nice views of the seawall and Gulf. Helpful staff. Food was great! My Banh Mi (with grilled chicken) sandwich was excellent. Their Thai iced tea was delicious (supper sweet, but in a good way). Definitely check this place out.

Yum! Yum! Give me some. This place does not disappoint. Can't wait to come back. Food is made to order and hot when it come to your table.

Fantastic food! Really loved the bahn mi sandwiches! Apring rolls were also very good!

Love the fried rice. Fried seafood was good but nothing spectacular. Fries were ok. Fried oysters didn't taste fresh.

The fried rice was super good. The fried seafood platter seem to be made from previously frozen food. You have to either order bottled water or soda because they do not give tap water which surprised me a bit. There is just one bathroom in the back. Wait staff are very nice and courteous.

This place does not serve water with food like in some developing countries. Not very hospitable. Shows their philosophy of squeezing money out of customers instead of serving them. Banhmi pork tastes like Chinese seasoning instead of authentic Vietnamese. Fried rice tastes like cheap butter. They forgot our order too.

We were in Galveston to celebrate Juneteenth. We decided to stop in to grab a kick bite and this place blew our minds. The food was so amazing. The crawfish had so much flavor that I couldn't help but let the juice run down my arm. The prices were also so reasonable which was great.

So yummy and I can't wait to go back again!
Just make sure you aren't in a rush though bc they do take a while to get the food out to you...but it is DEFINITELY worth it!! 😀

It never gets any better than grilled shrimp with Cajun and Vietnamese spice. The food is really wonderful. The service great. I am in foodie heaven I know you can not get any better than the grilled shrimp

Everything was very good! Friendly staff. Fresh food! Only con was probably that we ordered and ate too much! We got the loaded fries, boudin, and one of the fish, shrimp, oyster plates. It was all very good.

My viet people... the food is awesome. I wasn't sure cause there aren't many places in Galveston that impress me, especially Asian food, but this place is delicious.

Thai tea: it is perfect. It's not watered down.
Cafe sua da: also strong and delicious
Eggrolls: it was good. Not the typical viet eggrolls though.
Shrimp fried rice: pretty good. I like the flavor.
Banh mi (pork): I can eat this ALL DAY. Everything about it was great. The meat is flavorful, the bread is fresh and crispy, the jalapenos are spicyyyyyy and the veggies are fresh as well.

I'm definitely coming

Great combo of seafood and Asian. Fried rice with my fried shrimp and oysters. Cajun corn on the cob was tasty too. Can't beat the view of the beach.

I had the Pho, first time. it was very good, will try it again. I never had it before and the owner suggested how I should get it. I had it to go, and the Jalapeño that was included took me by surprise. The restaurant was clan and the staff was nice and more than willing to take the time to get my order right. Pho is Good. I also had a bacon cheese burger, it was good too, had a Cajun flavor to it and was NOT disappointing.

Tried them out on a quick whim and DAYuuuuuummmmmm am I impressed. I regret spending the $115 at Fish Tails last night.

Anyways, 20 wings and 6 Shrimp, fried rice and fries. I mean what else could you need. Wings were massive, hot and good flavor. Shrimp were exactly what you expect at the beach. Crunchy, fresh and flavorful.

Do yourself a favor and make this your Only stop!!

On the island and looking for something I hadn't tried before... Viet Cajun did not disappoint. Catfish was seasoned and cooked well (which can be a crapshoot when you get it grilled vs fried). Vegetables were ever so slightly over cooked but definitely not soggy. I guess that may be a personal preference, but I like mine with a little snap when you bite into them. Egg rolls were average. Not sure what the sauce was though.... I assumed duck sauce but it was a little more watery in consistency so ‍

Counter service family joint. Not someplace to "dine".

Came here hoping for the exact same satisfaction as we had the last time. WRONG (see previous review). To the owner: if you're going to enforce your mask mandates, make sure your staff in consistent and does NOT discriminate on anyone. Staff attitude towards customers MATTER. Today, it was a let down. I'm taking my business somewhere. You just lost a family of 4 as customers.
