Gaido's Of Galveston
San Giacinto Gaido first opened his doors to the beach-going public in 1911. The same year air conditioning was invented, the Gulf was teeming with a bounty of fresh seafood. From that day forward, Gaido's popularity as the freshest fish house on the Gulf grew from S.G. Gaido's unwavering commitment to serve only the best.

Today, we still peel our Gulf shrimp, shuck our Galveston bay oysters and fillet our fresh fish, by hand, the same way SG did more than 100 years ago. Because the Gaido's family has always remained passionate about food with our focus on taste. Our unique sauces, seasonings, salad dressings and delicious desserts are all house-made from time-tested family recipes.
Services
Wedding receptions, birthdays, business dinners, company outings, galas, anniversaries, retirements - Gaido's is the perfect venue for your private events. As a fourth generation family restaurant, we take great pride in being included in your cherished events. And we guarantee our service, food and attention to detail will ensure your event will be a complete success.
Gaido's is a close-knit family. All of us work side-by-side and strive to be the best fish house on the entire Gulf coast. And we like to have fun, too. Our success is built on the talents and professionalism of our enthusiastic employees. You'll be a valued, respected member of our family and enjoy excellent benefits.

Don't pass this one up. The food and service was awesome. Christina was our waitress and was great. I got a pork chop that was absolutely delicious. The calamari was the best I've had. We'll be back.

Delightful and delicious
We ate at this seafood restaurant, and it was fantastic! The seafood was fresh, and the quantity was adequate. I ordered the combo platter with blacken catfish, scallops, and shrimp with rice and asparagus.

I hate I didn't take a picture but trusted me the presentation was on point. I was not disappointed.

Our waiter was Shawn, and he was very attentive and communicated delays in our food, which I appreciated

I would highly recommend this restaurant.

My favorite place to eat in Galveston, can be pricy, however in my opinion it is well worth the price. There is a certain care that is applied to the food that just makes this an experience along with great food.

Meh.
I grew up in Galveston, so Gaido's was always the "go to" for special occasions. My cousins came down for a visit and wanted to go to Gaido's for lunch.
Personally, I would have passed...much like the glory days of Gaido's.

The service was extremely slow. We got there well past the lunch rush, and it took the waitress at least five minutes to greet us. We ordered drinks, and they brought bread.

After waiting and practically begging the waitress for our ($6.00 extra) meager salads, our lunches finally appeared.

Mine looked like someone had dropped it and scraped

2 plates of salad costs $40. We're just picking out the crabs off the salad because it really isn't good at all. I also got oysters, grilled and raw. Oysters is pretty good but their food isn't great at all. I really regret coming here because they don't really do anything for your birthday, like a free dessert or a free drink or anything. My friend told the server it was my birthday and if they have any sort of birthday promotion and he said "of course" and we were like what?? And he kept repeating "of course" and got us the bill. Like can you just say no

I've lived in the Houston area most of my life and finally got the opportunity to try this long standing institution and boy did they not disappoint! Myself and friend shared a seafood platter of grilled shrimp, scallops and red fish. This came with rice and Parmesan grilled tomatoes. We decided to add side salads and some truffle fries. Servings were huge and everything tasted soo good!!! When you are on the island, check this one off your list and have a delicious meal!

I loved the ambiance and my server.
The shrimp and grits was the best Grits I've ever had. the buttery garlic bread was so so good. For starters we had calamari. And from there on we were in heaven with the rest of our tasty meal.

For our one year wedding anniversary we decided to plan a trip to Galveston Texas. The weather was beautiful and for once the place wasn't packed as usual. We decided to try Gaido's for dinner located on the Seawall. They're was a nice crowd inside dining and luckily we got the last table. The place is absolutely beautiful. Our servers name was Evan and he was very delightful and very informative about the menu and the specials. We were ready to order we started out with a appetizer which I decided to try the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake which was jumbo lump crab, Pablo bread crumbs, then

This restaurant is truly breathtaking and have so much history to offer. The ambiance resembled something out of the movie, Titanic. The food was amazing and fresh! I had the red snapper with shrimp, lobster, and asparagus. My cousin had the crab cakes with steak fries and my daughter had chicken fettuccini with steak fries. For dessert, we had the strawberry cassata cake. Also, we ordered oysters as appetizers. The food, service, and the ambiance were amazing!

Tbh, the only thing truly memorable about Gaidos is the crab spinach dip. Just imaging a creamy spinach dip with copious amounts of crab and a warm loaf of soft cheesy bread to enjoy it with. Too yummy- I still dream about it. The rest of the seafood was good, but nothing too special. I feel like some of the seafood was over salted, but it was still an enjoyable meal. They have yummy margs and cocktails too!

Wishing I could give this place 6 stars. It's that amazing! The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu as they let you know every single detail about how your fish is prepared. You feel like royalty as they leave you with warm lemon water to cleanse your hands after your meal. The only thing missing from this entire experience was a gurney to roll me out of the restaurant for eating too much food! Well worth the

A gem along the Seawall, there's an old-fashioned elegance to this to restaurant that contributes to its success since 1911. A classy dining room and attentive staff create an ambiance great for families or perfect for a date night. I will warn that prices are on the higher end, but the value is there for excellent food and a wonderful dining experience.

Every drink and dish was delicious, our server (Reid) was stellar, and the big glass windows offer seating with a view of the beach... The menu is pretty extensive, from steaks to seafood to shareables. There is a chef special prepared from

Dined at Gaidos Seafood Restaurant...this place is really special. Took up a spot at the bar and met Rebecca who was to take care of me for the evening. Started off with a local brew called Galveston Island Tiki Wheat, this is a really solid beer with a slightly sweet wheat body and a crisp finish. Rebecca also brought me some of their homemade Cheddar Pepper bread with an olive oil dip. I had to control myself otherwise I would have consumed only bread for dinner...it's that good! I perused the menu but the imaginative special Rebecca described was going to be my choice.
