In the US, this requires four years of college, four years of medical school, and three years of residency, fellowship and sub specialty training from 1 to 2 years additionally. Medical Education - JCAHPOThe Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) was established as a not-for-profit organization in 1969 to offer certification and continuing education opportunities to ophthalmic allied health personnel.
