Cottonwood Tucson
Welcome to Cottonwood Tucson, an inpatient holistic health center licensed to treat mental health and substance use disorder. The fact that you are here may mean that you or a loved one is suffering. If this is the case, please know you have discovered a place of understanding, healing and hope. We treat a wide range of mental health disorders, as well as drug, alcohol, and various process addictions.

We have been working with co-occurring disorders for more than 20 years and have experience in the treatment of complex and difficult issues. Our medically managed detoxification consists of consultation with a medical provider, close nursing supervision, the regular monitoring of vital signs, and a medication protocol to manage the physical distress of withdrawal.
Services
At Cottonwood Tucson, we are dedicated to providing innovative and evidence-based holistic behavioral health treatment in an environment characterized by safety and respect for patients, family members and staff. Our commitment is to exceed community standards in the professional practice of medicine, nursing and psychotherapy and to operate our facility in a way that demonstrates respect and responsibility to our patients and employees.
At Cottonwood our philosophy of care presumes that physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of life are closely interconnected and equally important to the overall health and wellness of a human being. We believe that achieving and maintaining good health requires more than just treating a disease or disorder.
Good nutrition is an important, though often overlooked, component of a healthy recovery from addictions and mood disorders. At Cottonwood, our behavioral health dietitians work with patients in developing nutritional plans that ensure that they will have sufficient amounts of the right nutrients to promote clear thinking and a stable, happy and confident mood.
Human beings have evolved to be in motion. A sedentary lifestyle is contrary to human nature and bad for our brains. Exercising through and out of stressful situations is what we, as human beings, have been conditioned to do by hundreds of thousands of years of evolution. Today, the average person expends only 38 percent of the energy that our prehistoric ancestors once did.
Spiritual matters involve our ultimate nature and purpose, not as material beings, but as spirits with an eternal relationship beyond the bodily senses, and the material and temporal worlds. A sense of connection can be essential to spirituality - connection to a reality beyond that of the physical world and oneself, which may include an emotional experience of awe and reverence.

I completed a stay here from December 5th 2021 to December 30th 2021. Cottonwood was an excellent experience for me. The community was extremely welcoming, the staff were nice, and the care I received was stellar! The days are structured in a balanced way so that you get plenty of rest and activity time, but also plenty of group time. They do frequent outings, which I really enjoyed. Being there over Christmas, the staff really made it special, getting us gifts and having some fun holiday activities. The dorms were nice, I was in the new men's building and it was kept clean and tidy. The food was

I do not have any experience at this facility; however, it is the facility I have chosen for my son to go to when he decides to get clean and face his mental illness disease of being bi-polar. Cottonwood comes highly recommended by my therapist. Hopefully, my son can get the experience someday.

I would recommend Cottonwood to everyone dealing with mental health or substance abuse. Between te therapists, groups, and the community I have grown and healed from past and current addictions/traumas. Cottonwood has changed my perspective on so many aspects of my life I will forever be grateful for the opportunity that I have because of what I have learned to apply in my own life while I was here.

I don't normally write reviews but it was important to me leaving Cottonwood to share my experience.
Cottonwood changed my life. I went into Cottonwood with mental health & substance abuse issues. I was at the end of myself and didn't know where to turn. The admissions staff (Chris in particular) were extremely helpful and took my calls at all hours of the day & night.
I was greeted very warmly by not only the staff but the incredible Cottonwood community of peers. There is something very special about the community & atmosphere here. I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. Our core

I never leave reviews on here but this place saved my life and if you are feeling as hopeless as I was then please give this place a shot. I've been to multiple treatment centers over the past 10 years and this place hands down has changed my life!! That being said, of course I was skeptical at the beginning, but Nikki spent 2 hours on the phone with me, and I felt like she actually cared. In the past I felt like they just wanted my money or I was just another caller on this phone, but this time it felt different. Who knows, maybe it's because I was ready, or maybe because this place is special

I came to Cottonwood for treatment of alcoholism. It is the best decision I have ever made. The program here is very thorough and helped me become the best version of myself. I left here with tons of tools and resources to help with my recovery at home. Anyone struggling with addiction or mental health should definitely reach out to Cottonwood. Thanks to Cottonwood, I can live the true life I have meant to live.

Cottonwood saved my life!  I had the greatest therapist named Meridith Cohen.  In one of our first meetings, I spent forty minutes absolutely sobbing in her office.  She told me she loved me and then demonstrated it again and again over the next five weeks.  She has an advanced expertise in recovery - both from personal experience as well as from years of professional experience.  She genuinely cares about each and every one of her patients.  Most importantly, she is both challenging and supportive while conveying her extensive knowledge base.
