A lifelong passion for building and designing coupled with 15-years as a Building System Engineer has provided me with an understanding of both the nuts and bolts of how things go together and the larger understanding of how we've arrived at today's-built environment. Basement finishes are my favorite type of home improvement project. Homeowners just get so much more "bang for their buck" or ROI for the math nerds out there. Nothing makes me feel better than when I receive a final payment for a project that's enclosed in a "thank you" card. We keep things pretty simple around here and this pretty much tells me I'm running the company EXACTLY how I had set out.
The renovations that Matt and crew did on my house were extensive. I live in an old house in Old Town and the changes began because I needed to be able to get into the partial basement with reduced danger. Absolutely nothing about the house was regular or predictable, and being an old house, nothing was much was square or level.

Matt completed a full basement renovation for us, and we could not be happier! He was willing and able to do whatever was necessary to make our vision happen, and he took it beyond what we could have pictured. Exceeded expectations in every way. What was a mostly unused basement now has a home theater, wet bar, office, bedroom, full bathroom, and storage. A wonderful remodeling experience! Matt with DBS completely remodeled 3 bathrooms for us. He is educated, professional, and nice to have around. He communicates well and is reliable. Amazing attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship. He is efficient but does things in a high quality manner. We have been enjoying our new bathrooms for 6 weeks now and I haven't found a single thing to be disappointed by. So worth it. Thanks Matt!!!

We loved working with Matt! He did tilling, counters, beautiful custom shelving and cabinet installation for our laundry room. He was detailed and patient with our design plans and we can't wait to work with him again in the future! He did a great job with the planning and the job itself which can be a challenge to find- we will absolutely be asking him to do even more projects for us in the future. He kept us posted on time lines and was always willing to reassure us as things came together. He was very easy to work with, we never had any doubts about having him work when we were gone. Matt did a total remodel on our master bathroom which is open to our bedroom. He did an amazing job at minimizing dust and cleaning up every single day. His attention to detail and high quality work blew us away. The finished product was better than we expected and love our new bathroom. We had Matt help us with a bathroom remodel where he installed new backer board and tiling, as well as did electrical and plumbing that was needed. We cannot say enough amazing things about Matt and his work. He was always on time, was considerate and thoughtful of our time and space and his work is almost perfect, if there is such a thing! We couldn't be happier our new basement that Matt did for us. Having never been through any construction project before, I wasn't sure what to expect but Matt made it a very easy process.
