I hate to the be the party-pooper here. People seem to be so exicted about Magenta, but frankly I was disappointed when I went for the pre-holiday sale. I love ceramics, and Magenta had some cute designs. The designs are fun and the items are very inexpensive, but the execution ruined them for me. EVERYTHING is "Made in China" and had a mass-produced, seen-on-the-shelf-of-your-local-Hallmark-store look to it.
I purchased 2 small items just to justify my trip across the bridge, and one has already found its way into my Goodwill pile.

I love Rae Dunn, she is the reason I like pottery plain and simple. her studio is Magenta. They have a Sale two times a year and this weekend is one of the sales. You will get all of your Christmas/Kwaanza/Haunakkah gifts here. It is amazing.
I went a few years ago with a friend and have gone back every year. you will save tons of money and this is the only time of the year you get to shop there ( I think) Some of the items are samples so they are one of a kind type things, so neat. I am hoping I can meet Rae one of these days and say thanks for all the beautiful stuff she puts out.

Wowee! Be sure to join Magenta's email list so you can find out when their next sample sale is. My friends and I descended upon Magenta ceramic studio and left with lots of bootie, including flower petal plates, the Celebrate collection, and much more at prices 70% off retail. I had to reorganize my kitchen cabinet to accommodate all the beautiful new plates I collected. Magenta's collections surely appeal to both modern and classic tastes.
