The inspections of chimneys are an important service offered by A Neat Sweep. Chimney inspections come in many forms and you should be aware that not all inspections are alike. During the course of a chimney inspection, the technician on the job will usually check for missing mortar joints, deteriorated brick, excessive creosote accumulation and to see if the damper is working properly.
Dirty wood stove glass? Try dipping a dampened piece of newsprint in the fine white ashes after your fire has died. Wipe it onto the glass in circular motions - it works well if the glass isn't terribly dirty to begin with. Putting a chimney cover or chimney cap on top of your flue can save you a lot of money in the long run.

I just bought a new house that was built 17 years ago. No one had ever used the fireplace. So before I had gas logs installed I wanted the chimney inspected and cleaned.
Terry inspected the chimney and was honest to tell me it didn't need to be cleaned. Just a few cobwebs in there.
He is very honest, professional and on time to the appointment. I will use A Neat Sweep again to have my chimney cleaned.

Terry came out to my home and cleaned and inspected my fireplace and flue pipe two days ago. He also fixed the cap on top which was bent. He is a very nice guy, very polite and did not leave a spec of mess. His price was very reasonable at $210.00. I highly recommend Terry Samples with A Neat Sweep Complete Chimney Service.

My wife and I just moved in to a house with a real fireplace/wood stove (yes, both) and thought it best to get a cleaning and inspection lest we burn the house down this winter. I've had my 17 year old insert cleaned twice. Once years ago by a larger organization and then again this week by Terry with A Neat Sweep. There's really no comparison. He spent about 90 minutes on my fireplace, thoroughly cleaned the pipe from top to bottom, inspected from top to bottom including the cap and pan at the top of the chimney. Excellent customer service from start to finish, very knowledgeable and professional, all for a VERY reasonable price. I'm looking forward to a cold winter!!
