Services
People decide to seek therapy for many reasons. One common denominator is suffering. Two examples of suffering are feeling detached from life rather than living life, or reacting intensely to what seems like every-day life events. Mental distress comes in many forms. Anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, loss of vibrancy, loss of creativity, and depression are some manifestations of how the body and mind might react to mental distress.
Not all people respond to one type of psychotherapy. Having been eclectically trained, Michelle draws upon a variety of psychotherapy theories and methodologies to provide the best possible treatment outcomes for her clients. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps to change the context in which a person relates to their symptoms, allowing for more adaptive ways of relating to discomfort.

I offer all new clients a free 20-minute consultation via phone or skype for two reasons. The first reason is to determine if you and I will be able to work together to help you meet your goals. The second reason is for you to ask questions. Is my mental health services deductible separate from the deductible covering physical health?
Please complete them to the degree in which you are comfortable. We will go over them together. The intake form helps provide background for me to understand your situation and for you to clarify and add more information pertaining to the content. You will also be able to ask questions regarding any of the forms before signing.

I have been trying to see a therapist for three years to no avail. Today I left a message for Dr. Matoff and she returned my call. I didn’t realize that she is a bariactric therapist too. I have lupus and with years of prednisone my doctor recommended I have gastric bypass which I did in 2008. I am so looking forward to begin therapy with her.
