The first step in diagnosing and treating your heel pain is to make an appointment at the Heel Pain Center of Maryland. The most common type of heel pain is caused by plantar fasciitis. The most prevalent characteristics of plantar fasciitis are pain out of bed and after sitting for an extended period of time and then again towards the end of the day.
The good news is that over 90% of heel pain can be resolved with conservative treatment. About 5% requires surgery and about another 5% of heel pain unfortunately can become chronic. Our strategy to resolve heel pain is to eliminate the pain and inflammation and then control and improve the mechanics.
