The mission of NHCG is to eradicate poverty by promoting and encouraging parents to become personally involved and to help with their children's education. The "Family Incentives Equals Students Taking Action" Program provides Title I Low-Income School Families with free grocery items and school supplies in exchange for a commitment to help their children achieve perfect attendance and to excel in school.
Services
New Horizons Caregivers Group (NHCG), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, began in 2003 with a vision to help those in need, with a concern for single parent families, children at risk and a desire to promote education as a means to ending poverty. Awards: "Certificate of Recognition Outstanding Service 2020", "Certficate of Recognition Operation Success 2019", "2017 Certificate of Appreciation HLPUSD", and "2017 CREA Award FIESTA Program".
Terri holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public & Community Service and is a licensed counselor. She teaches classes in self-improvement, goal-setting and co-facilitates retreats. Terri is trained in counseling and enjoys helping women in recovery. Terri is also on the Advisory Board of the Mid-Valley Recovery Center in El Monte.
