Martial Arts have been practiced since the beginning of time. Combative skills were a necessity for survival. Whether you were fighting for your family, tribe or nation, combative skills saved your life. The same is true today in this age of assault and violence. However, ancient monks not only used these methods for survival, but for the development of the mind and body.
I.C.S. is truly a mixed martial art. It's a progressive and modern integratation of modern combat sports, traditional arts and high level Self defense arts. Combative sports systems of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu are an integral part of I.C.S. The powerful impacting and clinch work of Muay Thai develops awsome striking skills and athleticism.
In the culturally rich Philippines, fighting arts have always been an integral part of every day life. The Philippines is in a unique geographical location, thus having influence from many tribes of Asia. Long associated with lightning fast weapon applications, Kali, is a complete system of fighting, including empty hand impacting and grappling concepts.
Our Kickboxing program is a blend of Muay Thai Kickboxing and western boxing. Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand. Muay Thai fighters stand unequalled in international standup/ring competition. An intense cardiovascular workout, kickboxing develops a broad range of impacting skills. You can get in shape and learn how to defend yourself.
Grappling is the most primal and ancient of all martial arts. All cultures and tribes have developed different wrestling systems. Learning how to defend yourself in the close proximity of a pin, throw or submission hold is paramount. Most fighting ends up on the ground. Having a repertoire of trained responses can save your life.

We have been involved with Master Brown and the Brown Institute for about 17 years now. Master Brown is a one of a kind teacher. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. Master Brown is one of very few people in the world who has numerous black belts in multiple styles of martial arts. He has even created his own style called ICS (Integrated Combative System), which he teaches at his dojo. He is very personable and great to work with. I would highly recommend his dojo
to anyone of all ages.

Brown Institute is a fantastic place to learn martial arts no matter who you are or what level of experience you have. Sensei Brown, Larry and Joe give insightful, hands-on instruction that allows an individual to recognize the potential that they may not have known they possess. I was apprehensive to begin martial arts training at first, but both the instructors and students provide a welcoming community that will offer you support in achieving your goals.

Master Brown is friendly, professional, and kind. His Muay Thai class kicked the crap out of me, but that's because I'm out of shape. He is willing to take time to provide hands-on training and gives each student the attention they require to maximize their potential.
No to mention he's had Jeet Kune Do Master Dan Inonsanto at his school a few times, to say the least.
Also, it's the only place that teaches Pencak Silat Mande Muda.

A great place for the whole family. I started with Muay Thai six years ago, it's a great workout, and if your interested in competition you can find the right people to help work with you. I've really enjoyed the Friday Night Fight Club.
When my girls were old enough, they expressed interest in the kids classes and really enjoyed the challenge and discipline Guru Brown provide.
It's a great place to challenge yourself, learn about competitive martial arts in a family friendly environment.

Master Brown is outstanding with kids. The martial arts taught here are both traditional and functional (muay thai and brazillian jiut jitsu). He will let you take a class or two for free before paying to see how you like it. The belts come with education; not a certain number of classes, which I appreciate. The adult programs are very welcoming, a great workout, and educational. Overall, it's a very comfortable and safe environment for all ages to train and learn martial arts.
