What makes addiction especially concerning is that it can happen to any individual; no one is exempt. A person can develop an addiction regardless of where they live, how much education they have or the background they come from, maybe you suffered, trauma, PTSD, or domestic violence. Drug overdose is now the leading cause of accidental death in the U.S. for Americans under the age of 50.
Anger management is a psycho-therapeutic program for anger prevention and control. Anger is frequently a result of frustration, or of feeling blocked or thwarted from something the subject feels is important. Anger can also be a defensive response to underlying fear or feelings of vulnerability or powerlessness.
Our DUI programs educate and/or treat those charged with driving while intoxicated or driving while under the influence (DUI). To enroll in the most helpful program, applicants first complete an assessment with one of our certified addiction counselors. All programs meet the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration's (MVA) DUI standards.
The loved ones of those with addiction are greatly impacted. Many family members and close friends experience a "roller coaster" of emotions, including anxiety, depression, anger and more. Families also tend to adapt their roles within the family structure to accommodate the erratic behavior of the person with the addiction.
Intensive Outpatient services for men or women is a level of care that typically consists of 6 or more hours of service a week treating multidimensional instabilities. We provide services that can meet the complex needs of individuals in addiction and co-occurring conditions. It is a very organized outpatient service that delivers treatment services during the day, after work, in the evening and on Saturdays.
