Lifeline Horse Rescue & Rehab
Lifeline Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit volunteer-based equine welfare organization. We are a community resource for connecting horses in need to people who can help them. We provide help for abused, neglected, and/or unwanted horses via rescue, rehabilitation, retraining, and rehoming.

We follow and advocate the guidelines of equine care set by the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Humane Society of the United States. We work closely with a team of professionals to ensure that each rescue horse receives the care, training, and time to recover he/she needs. In addition, we strive to prevent abuse and neglect through educational programs and community outreach.
Services
Bay Standardbred mare used by the Amish for 20 years as a buggy horse and later used by the children to ride down to the pond and swim. Batilda is sweet and kind. She has a big knee due to years of pounding on the roads. We are looking for a loving, forever home for this beautiful girl. Batilda is now out of quarantine and at our Brookeville location.
After a month in quarantine, we brought Toby home and started his rehabilitation. He was sick and thin when we got him, but with rehab and training, he quickly became a favorite for many in the barn. He was always the first to greet you at the gate and check all of your pockets for a treat. Toby was adopted and transported to his forever home on 4/30/19!
Have space in your barn but not ready to adopt? Consider fostering. We require vet and farrier references and a contract. For more information on adopting and/or fostering please contact us at leila@lifelinehorserescue.com. I herby agree that my data entered in the contact form will be stored electronically, and will be processed and used for the purpose of establishing contact.
Our discount tack and gift shop is located on the farm in Gaithersburg. We offer new and gently used items for horse and rider. We have a full range of sizes in new schooling helmets, paddock boots, and tall boots, as well as bits, bridles, halters, show pads, grooming equipment, clippers, and of course treats!.
Lifeline Horse Rescue is always looking for volunteers to help around the farm. We welcome groups for specific projects or individual volunteers in our basic horse care program. We are approved by Montgomery County Public Schools for Student Service Learning (SSL). Our volunteers may earn SSL hours, work toward an internship or honors project, gain experience working with large animals, or fulfil other community volunteer requirements.
