The Vaganova method is one of the main training techniques of classical ballet. The students follow a graded syllabus that was developed by Aggrippina Vaganova (1871-1951), a principal dancer at the Maryinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. Vaganova's method has become the foremost method, and has trained ballet stars such as Natalia Makarova, Rudolf Nureyev and Mikhail Baryshnikov.

Students of the Long Island Ballet Academy & Dance receive a unique education. They are enhanced by tradition of the classical ballet, and are given a strong base and artistic excellence, allowing them to expand into other styles of Modern Dance. The school operates from September through June with an intensive summer program in July and August.

If most dance studios seem to have friendly qualified teachers, convenient class times, and a big show at the end of the year, aren't they all pretty much the same? Does it really matter which place you enroll your child? The answer is yes! There are 5 main things that can make a huge difference in the quality of instruction your child receives, and the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of being involved in a dance program.
Whether you're looking for an activity for yourself or for your child, ballet offers many potential benefits for both body and mind. It's a total body workout that requires both discipline and focus but is also quite enjoyable. Plus, ballet is usually taught in a group setting which gives you the opportunity to interact with other dancers.

This is where I learned the fundamentals of classical ballet and really gained the technical knowledge I have today. Ms Irina has expertise that is extremely hard to find anywhere outside of NYC. Her studio is HUGE, and free of any poles/obstructions! If you are looking to seriously study Vaganova ballet technique with a true ballet master, this is the place. A strong ballet foundation is important for anyone seeking to dance professionally, and Vaganova technique in particular gives your body strength and flexibility that will serve your dance career in the long-term. Though I now consider

I have been doing ballet for over 20 years and I am currently employed as a professional dancer. Despite all the options available in the NYC area, I travel specially to Seacliff to study with Ms. Irina at LI Ballet Academy and Dance and wanted to add my experiences here for anyone looking for quality ballet training.
Ms Irina, the Director of LI Ballet Academy and Dance, has a special gift for teaching and a passion for ballet that is inspiring. The most important part of any training is trust and I feel that I can trust Ms. Irina as a teacher completely, for her knowledge of the classical repertoire

My daughters first dance class ever and Ms. Irina stopped the class early and yelled at the 3-5 year olds because they were taking too many water breaks. After I asked for my money back after just one class she agreed and then 3 weeks later refused! Do not take your kids here and if you do make sure you get a trial class before giving her any money!

Excellent training for kids. Irina is professional ballet dancer with Russian training. Very hard to find somebody like her until you try ABT.
I would recommend her for the kids who are serious about the ballet and professional training.

Not so easy to see right off of Main Avenue and 14th Avenue in the Sea Cliff area of Glenn Cove New York. Downstairs in what appears to be a house on the corner. Small parking lot. Clean facilities. Public Restroom. Nice big room for training with high ceiling. Highly recommended for the serious Ballet Student.

I know first hand what an incredible ballet master Irina is. I studied with her in both Maine and Miami and always felt she was one of the best instructor of the Vaganova technique.

I danced since I was three years old and learned techniques including Ceccetti, Balanchine, and Vaganova. If you're not sure what the difference is, just know that the Russian Vagonova technique is the creme de la creme of all three, and Irina teaches it better than anyone I've received instruction from.

My training from Irina helped me land a contract with a company in Florida in which I performed with
