Dr. Bowden grew up in North Carolina, where she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors. She practiced in the Charlotte area until her husband's career led them to Greenville. The Bowdens have called Greenville home for the last 17 years, where they have raised their two children, Clay and Liza, and have even been converted into Clemson fans!
Dr. Bowden enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, but her passion lies in the prevention and treatment of behavior problems in dogs and cats. She is proud to have achieved Low Stress Handling Certification, and hopes to use these skills to create a positive and comfortable hospital experience for both you and your pet.

For Prescription refills please email us at Crosswindsanimalhospital@gmail.com. Please include your name, pet's name and prescription request in the email. If you need a refill to an outside Pharmacy please include the Pharmacy name, location, and phone number. For all prescriptions needing to be picked up in hospital, please allow 1 business day for fulfillment.
We understand that life is busy and you might not have time to come to our office to fill your medications, specialty diets or your pup's favorite treats. We offer our full online pharmacy to help you care for your pet. This will allow you to create an account. Then simply add your pets to your account and add their medications, treats or food into your cart.
Crosswinds Animal Hospital supports local schools in that we allow students to shadow to observe daily functions of a veterinary hospital. We try our best to accommodate anyone that contacts us for student shadow hours but due to our small size we can only provide a few slots on a first come, first serve basis.

In Jan 2021 I moved from Colorado to South Carolina temporarily due to a family emergency. 2 weeks before the move, one of my dogs had ACL surgery and I was desperate to find a good vet in SC to do his post-op care. He has SEVERE anxiety at the vet. Thank God I found Crosswinds. Dr Powell, Dr Washburn and the entire staff - shoutout to Crystal and Maddie - are AMAZING with him. They are SO good, in fact, that even though we are now staying 4 hours away in Tennessee, I'm STILL taking him to them. Was recommended this vet from our previous vet, and they did not disappoint! Had to bring in my dog and her 3 puppies, and they sent me an estimate of charges before I showed up so I’d know how much I’m spending - much cheaper than I had expected, and they handled all four dogs with love and care, playing with them while they got their shots and pampering them throughout the visit! Very excited to have found our permanent vet for our dogs!

Henry does not love getting poked and prodded at the vet but everyone at Crosswinds helps him stay calm and feel safe. Dr Powell even remembers that Henry LOVES pill pockets and always gives him lots of treats and love.

I have taken my dog, Moose, to Crosswinds for over 2 years and I have always loved them. My husband and I have said we want a doctor for ourselves that is as good as the vets are to our pup! :) We have seen all of the vets and they are all fabulous. From start to finish a terrific experience. Check in was smooth, the assessment with the technician friendly and thorough and Dr. Hait was kind and informative. She clearly cares immensely for her patients and their human parents. I trust her completely with our German Shepherd Maggie. Check out was helpful and easy. Took my 2 seniors in for their yearly check up. I was pleased that I could go in with my pets. I do not like leaving them at the curb as I like to speak directly with the vet tech and veterinarian. Both technician and veterinarian listened to my histories and concerns and gave both a good check over. They were also gentle with my babies. They will be coming back for sure.

My sweet girl had emergency surgery here a few weeks back. It was very scary for me as I thought she had a cold when I took her in for a sick visit. The surgery was hours later and the doctors and staff cared for my sweet girl as if she was their own pet. I was updated on her status throughout the day, and she was checked on twice with a call after surgery. They are caring, kind, and are specialists when it come to your pets health. Thank you to all over at this location for the care and love you provided for Pumpkin in her time of need. I am very grateful for you all.
